Went to bigbox. It is really big.
So, i told my friends, it is very easy to ' make $' from locals. Just bring something new into Singapore, and they go " Wow" ....
like Nandos, H & M....they even queue overnite ?
Some will counter me : so easy, why dont I do it then ?
Something big & new on the way...soon..akan datang
Can' t agree more.  This is what I' ve been telling friends.  Malls so many, names n brands all the same.  Prices also the same.  So, u get fleeced by one, u get fleeced by all.  Haha.

If you have foreigner friend , you tell them, you see 1 mall in HDB heartlands, you see it all.
Same tenants , those retail, those coffee chains, those confectionery, those supermarkets about the same...even restaurants same same...
We lack good, creative people in Singapore. All ABC Model.
Look at Jurong East , how many malls there ?
You have J Cube ? JEM ? Westgate (which i like the spacious mall concept), IMM and now you have Big Box ?

Question like to ask is : what anchor tenants do they have ? IKEA ? or their own Akira and barang barang ? brand taking up most of the space ? Is Mc Donalds   there ? NO or ?
If so, i will pass .
Too many Integrated Commercial Spaces in Singapore, Punggol 21 will have biggest mall soon ?
Changi Airport also have mall ?
How many Anchor tenants can you find ?
BB will wait for next financial report, hope profit surge...
Got their promotion flyers...nothing special...feel like another giant in the same area...

Not expect TT turn over like Osim from 0.05 to 2.9!, but believe it can be above 0.2 after BB operation, and possible can reach 0.3 also if runs in good manner... great upper space
AS we all knoe SL2 is condemmed... BB will become Asias new
Electronics Hub.... just watch it take off... all the other brands
etc are just for show only to comply WRS concept. Everthing
Good to Go!!! Huat ah!!

yes, retail mix more likely taken up by its own brands. But there will be other products and brands coming in. And heard they will be having their own hypermarket. Plus some other F& B outlets.
have some relation with the industry, big box now very messy but still they have to be successful, under big pressure. their stretagy is to build one big-box similar to Ikea Courts & Giant at east but all under one roof. interesting idea, seem appealing, but need to see its opening first.

if big box has mixed tenants, still ok. but read news say that most of the retail space taken by tt own brands akira and barang barang.
akira after so many years, is it a household branded name or ?
u know the answer yourself.
thus, wrong strategy by big box.
Ask them sell big box lah, take the money pay the to bank bec they miss the hot season so
There are a lot of ghost shops at orchard road if you go there at weekday! not worth $ there also?

can rent out all flloor for others to run their business there.
anyway, almost all space there have been rented at high rental, heard of rental 30$psf@GEM, the new building opposite BigBox is under construction and sold at 4000+$psf , indicating Bigbox worth big $.
weekend carpark is full inthat area and need wait for long q, that indicate business activity that area!
Ask a question, if now sell Bigbox to Reit, how huch ?

Here things are so expensive. Also, far too many shopping mall and too many players going into mall n reit business.  Even SPH, media business dying slow death, next thing diversify into reit n mall,  formula to guaranteed  to bring back the profits.  But how long can this go on?    You go to every mall, you see the same names, same brands.  So, five million people (assuming tourist  growth has reached some level of stagnation) last time spread over 100 malls, say.  Next time, spread over 200.  Long term, if they don' t die, consumers will cos prices don' t know will jack up how many%?
