I have been buying and selling this stock for almost 25 years. The Management has an impressive track record of buying properties cheap - the former 112 Katong, Grand Hotels group (the 2 Aussie Hyatt hotels), land parcels in SG, Robinson Towers and Robinson Point. I didn't like several related deals and the stingy dividend policy. Also no Analysts are covering the stock. But with the completion of RT looming next year - I think this company will be revitalised and come into everyone and Analysts radars now.

Mr Goldfinger, you not only been very focus in your past two years observation but also very patient, now you have piled up a Goldmine

Goldfinger      ( Date: 07-Oct-2017 12:38) Posted:

From my daily observation of the share prices over the years - there was some strange activity at the 28-30ct mark some 1 to 2 years back. The sellers kept taking out the bids on a daily EOD basis. Prices kept drifting lower. Even 100 share type deals so I was very puzzled why. So I kept buying at that mark too. This I'm very happy now that I bought bah.

I think the share price is now gravitating towards fairer values which I think is still rather far away northwards

The way Tuan Sing current mini bull run reminds me of YangZiJiang when started from around 80 cents to 1.60 level then fell after Rights announced.

Tuan Sing is highly geared and pays low dividend so what are the reasons for the current mini bull run?
- rights issue to reduce gearing (good reason why share prices have rallied)?
- REITs to reduce gearing and reward shareholders ( highly possible as company owns several hotels and commercial properties and likely following CapitaLand that spinned off Capitalmall Asia Capitalmall Trust) ?
- hostil takeover (maybe by Chinese party)?
- friendly merger ( by Tycoon Koh as someone mentioned he is buying the shares)?
- or just buying by investors due to share is undervalued (but the volume transacted within short period somehow doesn't fit in)

Whatever you want to guess the rally is just starting as twice it has hit the TOP 20 lately

Let the party continues

Tuan Sing certainly is one of those undervalued stocks that investors are taking notice now. It is also highly rated in terms of corporate governance practices. At current market price it is still very cheap compared to its peers.

Nice to see TS in the TOP 20 active list today - no longer a dead share and means those who bought expect further price gains. AND SO DO I - haha. Have a great weekend celebrating folks!

Welcome. Once Robinson Towers is built and the gleaming well-architectured building with 7 storeys of retail is completed on the doorstep of Raffles Place - the true value of TS will be apparent to all in Shenton Way and Raffles Place. Interestingly I also realised that TS Robinson Point is probably 100 meters away only. Got potential for that too.

Anyway am right in front of Robinson Towers now and it's now built up to the 19 or 20th floor now. May even conplete all 28 floors by end this year given their speed of progress.

Technical analysis is interesting. I have one ang mo 师 父 very good in this. In 1982, I went to his office. It' s full of charts. He pointed on particular chart to me -- US Federal fund Rate. It has a massive head and shoulder pattern. He vehemently said to me that US fed fund rate will drop to 1%. It was then about 18%. I thought he is crazy. But 35 years later, I admire his marverlous prediction skill based on charts.

My ang mo 师 父 had passed away. I have fond memory of him : An unselfish man who will teach everything in his head knowledge to those who want to learn.

Tuan Sing has an interesting chart pattern too. A 2  years inverted head and shoulder pattern is formed (though a bit distorted on the left most shoulder) and breakout last month confirmed its bull infancy. (牛 市 初 期 .). If you look back to 2001, an even larger inverted head and shoulder for 5 years was formed. Guess what? Tuan Sing rose from about 5 cents to 42 cents in 2007. 8 times!

This is not to say fundamental analysis has no merits. When Business Times wrote in Sep 2007 and again in Dec 2010 that Tuan Sing was undervalued, I asked myself is Tuan Sing better off today than it was 10 years ago? The 2 13-storey buildings at Market Street become 1 28-storey building. Isn' t it value creation? More interestingly, A 840 sq ft backlane behind Robinson Tower becomes part of the new building. From zero value becomes $35,000,000 (840*13.9 plot ratio*$3,000psf). Isn' t this value creation? This reminds me of one Fragrance project along Telok Kurau Road. There were 2 old buildings in between seperated by a canal. The canal is negative value to the development. Fragrance covered it with slab. Guess what? The canal became a driveway within the development. From a smelly canal became positive value!. This is value creation.

I hope readers here realise the real value of Tuan sing. There was one reader who used to contribute in this column past few months. He sold all his Tuan Sing for some profit. I felt sorry for him, because the real potential of Tuan Sing is yet to be realised.
