deposit and loan value similar to OCBC. exposure to GC abt 25b, exposure to Sin slightly over 100b, housing loan abt 56bil, building and construction abt 45b..... GC exposure abt half of OCBC...... also recall from memory.... dyodd.

Just happened to check on UOB closing price today and I was awestruck with my conclusion is "股票真无情 "。

UOB' s internet banking has always been one of the worst in the market and the latest is not exception. You have to click here and there to do a simple transaction. But their One Account is the best in the market. Unfortunately, their promotion doesn' t last beyond end of the month.

I' ve been banking with UOB for over 25 yrs. Stayed so long with them cos I' ve found them the best of the three local bks. Of the other two, one seems always blundering, the other rather pretensious. But, yes, the recent upgrading of the internet banking platform was horribly horrible. Seemed to have regressed.

When PRC mkts take an extended break for CNY, it' d give STI some brekthing space. Then they' d pump up the bks to raise STI, even if only to create the meat for it to collapse back after PRC mkts reopen later. Then, perhaps, just perhaps, we might see sub 17. But I doubt it' d be much lower than that.

UOB after a good technical rebound on 22 & 25 Jan it has more or less given up all the gain and trend lower to close at $17.44.

Short term is rather bearish. It may continue to head further South.

Super high volume simply means there are many buyers AND sellers. Bearish or bullish is just an opinion, which can be rather subjective.

i always prefer UOB and OCBC than DBS.

REASON : Bank is good in blue color, not red

With Nikkei surge 6% ,STI may go upswing .UOB will gap up to $18.00 and above and close higher.
