I don,t think gov will nationalise SMRT bcos this is not their line of thinking, secondly they want a scapegoat to ans to the public. If gov does not support with renewing the trains and tracks, the only way is to raise fare (spore MRT is still cheaper than HK's MTR). With COE reducing its nos, and skyhigh COE, more pple will take to MRT. This is going to a political cost if not solved properly.
Look at housing, they  had quietly by not building suff HDB flats so as to push pple to buy from private dev  in the last 10 yrs b4 election. Wah, now building a lot ECs as well.
Look at the police force, also same thing.
If there is no set back at the election, the next sector they are going to quietly " privatise" is education.

Will face selling pressure in the short term......wait till dust settle and see how

Temasek has 54.8% direct shares of SMRT.
waiting for you guys to become pessimistic and fearful.
For those who don't have swimming pools, they also can have their 'free gym' for daily aerobics.
All they need to do is walk up the stairs every day and get the benefit of great health without
paying a cent for gym membership. With this method, one can even skip all the jogging, etc.

Another serious irritant on TV is when advertisements come on during a show, the sound level is abruptly increased.
The USA has recently outlawed this kind of anger-inducing practice. I wonder when we are going to stop it here too.
This reminds one of those pop-up ads when we view YouTube videos.
Whenever those ads appear, before the video starts or while you are watching the video,
it makes people's blood boil. In the long-term, this can contribute to a decline in people's health.

Lets see how LTA and SMRT share the 900 mil.  But i guess SMRT will continue to face pressure on high maintenance cost in the next 3 years.  Perhaps LTA takes a bigger portion of the  900 mil to minimize the impact.
Let hope for the best.

SMRT declares a final dividend of 5.70 cents per share, bringing total dividend per share to 7.45 cents for the year. This is a drop of 1.05 cents, or 1.24% from the previous year.
At the current price of $1.68, the dividend yield works out to be 4.43% which is pretty decent and well-supported.
Your comments?
On Friday, SMRT continue to undergo heavy selling pressure and closed at $1.685 with HIGH volume of 4.41 million shares traded.
Three black candles occurred in the last three days.  Although these candles were not big enough to create three black crows, the steady downward pattern is bearish.
Both RSI & MACD are bearish though RSI near oversold region.
Important Resistance of SMRT: $1.71
Immediate Support of SMRT: $1.64
Currently the prices are well below 20/50/100/200 days MA.
