Ah Gong supporting this stock...dun worry! lol

Downtrend to continue after players locked in their profits.
Wow.That guy is more confident than TSH.(i.e.600lot vs 200lot).
A person would not normally revealed his position unless he cross a certain percentage and require by the SGX regulations to do so mah.Worth pondering???

Singapore Business Review  –  1 hour 25 minutes ago
" Why make the offer so attractive?" , asks IG Markets.
In its Singapore evening update report, IG Markets notes that Olam topped the list of STI gainers in the past trading day as short covering before the much maligned capital rights issue drove the price upward.
" The shares ended the day at $1.475, a gain of 5.7%, well off the early highs, but still the biggest daily move higher in the stock since the capital raising was announced at the beginning of December. It is hardly surprising that a bond yielding 6.75%, with warrants attached and issued at a discount to par value has shareholders chomping at the bit to get involved," IG Markets said.
" As we have discussed several times it is a very attractive offer, especially so if you believe the management of the company that everything is more than fine with the financial health and accounting of the company," it added.
" The question still remains over whether the decision to raise capital through this expensive method really shows that the company is being well managed, and is positioned well. If capital is easy to access and shareholders are full of confidence why do you need to make the offer so attractive?" it said further.
" Sadly, it could be some time before we truly know the answer to that question and in the meantime the decision to invest further capital in the company has to be taken now. We know the large institutional shareholders are happy to partake, and Temasek has basically underwritten the issue, so it would seem likely that most others will take the risk and partake in the high-yielding bond."

LETTER TO
THE EDITOR
Sincere shareholders should stand by Olam
print  |email this article
I HAVE
known the Kewalram Chanrai group (KCG) from Nigeria professionally since they
started Olam in 1989. They are a very trustworthy and credible business group.
  Olam's
progress is a shining example of their sincere and untiring efforts. The
company provides fair deals to thousands of peasant farmers in Africa and now
across the globe.   But it seems Olam's aggressive approach to expand too
much, too fast made it an attractive target for short-sellers such as Muddy
Waters.
  During
recessionary times, agri-business assets such as plantations and agro
processing projects become available at throwaway prices. These are good times
for any business to acquire such assets. It looks like Olam did so, and did it
right. Its high debt is understandable in view of these acquisitions, which I
think are crucially important and of high value.
  It
requires patience to get returns from these agribusiness projects. Although the
process can be slow and steady, such projects provide a solid base for a
trading company as returns from them are quite stable and consistent. Given
adequate time, these assets will prove to be a gold mine for both Olam and its
investors.
  I
am not a financial expert or a share trader, but all my working life (35
years), I have done agro projects. Valuation concepts such as " stock in
pipeline" or " work in progress" (referred to as " biological
gains" in Olam's case) and " gestation period" are part and
parcel of project accounting, even if they may seem a bit weird to stockmarket
traders.
  It
is time for sincere shareholders to consolidate behind Olam. If genuine and
major shareholders maintain their trust (as demonstrated by Temasek and KCG),
it would give a much-needed boost to market psychology and will help thwart the
attack on Olam by the short-sellers.  As Olam and its major investors are
credible business groups, and Olam itself has a good business model, a
competent CEO and management and genuine intentions to succeed, I am certain
that it will emerge from its " muddy waters" situation soon and
successfully.
  This
is my viewpoint, but investors should carry out their own research. I have no
financial interest in or personal contact with Olam.

Hi skk88, Thanks for the sharing! guess it is a science not an art. It is stategic trading and not wild gambling where  figure not support by fact and data and purely based on luck.

Ya, to make profit in the stock market, apart from foresight and luck etc, it also requires guts.

Anyway, I will be surprised if the shortists stop trying. However, I will be even more surprised if they can gather the same kind of momentum. If they succeed, then good for them. If they don’t, the price will go up further. I don't intend to sell my shares after BCD. Let nature take its course.
Btw, you said you were waiting to long Olam. Did you manage to get some? |

Dear tiancai, the so-called rights issue price of $1.575 only applies to the warrants which can only be excercised after 3 years.
