I thought this is suppose to be a defecnsive stock , why drop again today ?
What happen to this stock ? Fall 1% to 2% daily
M1 just started short term down trend.

M1 3Q13 net profit rose 19% y/y to $39.5m following good results in the past 2 quarters. Results could have been better if not for a $1.5m IDA fine from a network failure in Jan 2013. Adjusted for the fine, 3Q13 net profit would have been 20% y/y, and 9M13 net profit would have accounted for 72% of MBKE?s full year forecast. Data monetisation is still intact, with data contributing 42.3% of service revenue, as well as the number of subscribers who have switched over to tiered data plans (32% of postpaid base, up 5ppt q/q) with 5.1 of postpaid base busting their data caps. iPhone 5 impact should be smaller than before as demand for the 5s is not as strong as the 5, whilst supply is being soaked up by China and Japan.
MBKE maintains Buy with TP: $3.98 on 2 catalysts: 1)The telco firm could pay a 7cts special dividend on top of regular full year dividend of 14.8cts. If so, its yield of 6.3% would be as attractive as SREITs. 2) If BPL cross-carriage goes through next year, it will be a huge boost to its Pay TV business. Calls from other brokers as follows: CIMB: O/PF, TP:$4.10 OCBC: Hold, TP:$3.17 Daiwa: Hold, TP: $3.11
4dollars is the next target.
Breaking out liaooooo Very soon.
Breaking out liaooooo Very soon.
Experiences tell me it'll fall then. Wait to re-enter at the price I would want to hold for long term.
so strange, no sign of this will go up 3 days straight
m1 keeping going up again
It's strange indeed. So, I sold to realise my profit first given that the price is as close as its pre-May period. Don't M1 to suddenly drop in price and it'll be too late to react like what happen to the penny stocks saga.
Ya, anyone know why. By right when negative news like they got fine 1.5 million, price should have fall abit. Duno why they keep going up for 3 days straight already.

M1 is moving up again.. anyone out there know why?
M1 dealt record breaking $1.5m fine for the disruption of its 2G and 3G mobile phone services in Jan, which affected some 250,000 M1 customers. This represents 0.14% of M1?s last full year of operating revenue of $1.08b. For the industry, more compliance hurdles might loom. Following a review of the network resiliency for all three operators - SingTel Mobile, M1 and StarHub Mobile - IDA noted yesterday that while they generally met international standards, there was " room for improvement" . It will implement a new audit framework to review network resiliency regularly, IDA added.

M1 2QFY13 results came in at the higher end of estimates, which saw net profit at $39.2m (+11% y/y, -4% q/q) while revenue at $244.5m (+5% y/y, +1% q/q). EBITDA margins dipped slightly at 37% versus 38.1% y/y. The result brings 1H13 revenue to $487.5m, -2% y/y and net profit to $80.2m, +6% y/y. Performance was buoyed by strong contributions from group’s service revenue, on back of an 8% y/y growth in mobile revenue and a 35% growth in fixed network sales.
The quarter saw M1 adding 55,000 customers to bring its total mobile customer base to 2.1m, of which 307,000 were 4G customers, while the group also added 7,000 fiber broadband customers bringing its base to 67,000. About 11% of the 4G users on tiered plans have upgraded to higher value plans, and the impact on ARPU is immediate. Average data usage also rose steeply to 3.2GB from 2GB in just a quarter, suggesting that users are breaking free of the bundled cap. Going forward, M1 guides that broadband data traffic is shifting from data cards to smartphones and faster networks and devices will continue to drive growth in data usage, and the group is well positioned to capture this growth. M1 has declared an interim div of 6.8c per share.
Maybank-KE believe that M1 is shaping up to be a big beneficiary of data monetisation due to its pure mobile earnings base. With national fiber-optic network’s real coverage only at 30-40% of all households, house believe that as more customers exit contracts, the net-add pace should pick up beyond the current 7,000-8,000 per quarter. As such, fiber is another potential for the group. At current price of $3.12, M1 trades at 9x forward EV/EBITD backed with a forward dividend yield of 4.7%.
