U can refer to latest announcement, ssh increased their shareholdings by another 20+ mm shares on Wed (12 July) at avg cost of $2.72 . Super Huge Year End Bonus for them

yeah i was wondering too when i saw how price dived and then suddenly trade halt. must be insiders knowing that a deal was in the make and selling some at lower price hoping retail investors would panic and also sell bringing the price down even more. dump the price and then buy again at 2.70. imagine how much profit they made in a few hours and retail investors who panicked are now probably sick of misery.   very dubious practices !
wondering if SGX will investigate this.. |

Actually it could have gone either way. I' m glad you brought this topic up. Can anyone share why the price suddenly plummeted causing panic to all retail holders? I remember the same happened to China Everbright and that was not a feign move like this probably was. With most takeovers, mkt usually has the inside news and the share price generally commensurates with the final bid price. This is a totally different ball game.Who were the dumpers trying to drive the price down and accumulate from the open mkt?   |

It appears from SGX announcement that substantial shareholder, Elliot Capital, increased their holdings from 5.864% to 6.433%.
Elliot Capital is an activist hedge fund under the group of funds controlled by Paul Elliot Singer.
Wonder if there is a ythi g brewing.
Agreed,,,,, saw a filing Elliot just announce they increased in their shares ....all bot on 12th Jul ) so perfect timing
Will SGX do anything or investigate ?  No ....they prefer to sleep

Yes. This is the reason GIC' s irrevocable commitment to sell to Chinese comes with option to sell to any higher offer not matched again by the Chinese consortium.
Congratulations to all who held to their belief and did not waver. Reward comes with calculated risk.

UOBKH sent a fact sheet on the offer. Cannot find the part about GIC have options to accept a higher offer. Can enlighten us, please. The funds to pay us already with UOB.

| Agreed with FATABA. GIC has ' bird' in hand with the $3.38 offer and can accept higher counter offer. The dividend and 8-9 cents premium to current price is worth the wait. The only only issue is the waiting time for the completion and payment may be several weeks. Hopefully, the Chinese will not have any trouble getting funds out from China to pay for this purchase. Atleast this consortium is reasonable compared to the UE case.  |

Yes I agree.

Thanks to your previous posting for the insight given, and believed that the Deal will go ahead albeit some risks taking.

I also sold all at 3.30, waited a long time.
Thanks GIC and the Chinese, bye bye GLP.
Agreed that $$$ in the pocket is safer and can go invest in others :)

Thanks GLP!

It also address the accusations that it is not fair. Now everyone can bid.

You are right! The world is very uncertain. What happen the war breakout. North Korea send another big missile into the sea.  The flash point of South China Sea spratly islands conflict between 2 giant. GLP risk remain until april 2018.

This is POSITIVE for GLP ...which means IF ( i say if ) Warburgs or Blackstone decide to offer 3.40 , then GIC reserved the right to accept the counter higher offer.
IN the meantime....those who SELL offer before the 3rd Aug....lost the 0.06 dividend plus the 0.08 cents premium diff ( assume sold off 3.30)
So for chinese gp ...its worth to collect 3.30 .....save 14c per share mah .....anyway have to take over.
