Beging of the end of sgx.THIS IS SELF INFICTED DAMAGE, the high freq trading computers ,mtp and script borrowing!
Sgx may have to work overnight tonight to decide whether to lift the halt. This going to be world class joke in stock exchange history..

SGX needs to appoint auditors to investigate the Company, no matter Chapter 11 in US.   C-Suite should be stood down whilst investigation undertaken, completely independent.

😁 😁 😁 you think too high on Ezra management. They quickly registered company in U.S., is to file bankruptcy in U.S. To avoid gonna investigation like Swiber who JM in Singapore.
Basically company filing bankruptcy, most of the time management won't be sued by gov, lawsuits will only be launched by existing shareholders and send management to court, and most of the time, management will be get rid of any responsibility since to US court, everyone hold own due diligence and responsibility to buy company shares, everyone cannot earn money from share, all happy and quiet but when lose money try to blame others.
But Swiber case is gone too far on this basis since gov and statutory step in to investigate management.
So Ezra management take lesson learnt from Swiber case and file bankruptcy oversea, chapter 11, even allow existing management to stay with the company till further notice from creditors and judge. So management still enjoy their pay most of the time.

I think this is a rough job for the mgmt since this is not their area of expertise. So they should get a 50% pay rise for doing chapter 11. But for the ground workers, they need to take a 50% paycut since the company is not doing well. Fair right!

Disagree all because of downturn, EZRA was on way down when oil price US$100+.   There needs to be a full investigation in Singapore, no matter file for Chapter 11 in US

I hope most of the staff are able to seek employment. Some are like you and me, have many mouths to feed at home. The older workers will definitely have a harder time based on the current employment sentiments in Singapore.
During the good old days when O & G companies are doing well, it is not uncommon to see 6 moths or 12 months bonuses. So, it' s just simply a downturn which I believe there' s nothing much the directors or management can do. Many in the industry already gone bust. Those companies who survived will definitely come  out stronger, as most of the weaker competitors are wiped out.
Strength of Ezra estimated to be 5000, in Singapore context, a mid-sized company. Big companies include SIA, SeaGate, ST Engineering, SMRT, SingTel.....etc (notice mostly starts with ' S' ), so, it' s definitely not true when one of our friends here said " EZRA is too big to fail" .
Good Luck to all current holders, you guys really need it tomorrow.
