don' t forget that at least PCCW and HKT pay regular dividends CURRENTLY, PCRD does not. it is also not a certainty that PCRD pays dividends.

So , i will categorize 3 groups of people " who may not be very very smart" :

1. Those HKers and funds companies who bought PCCW in HK (i must say i am very surprised, as HKers are supposed to see ' every opportunity at every angle' )

2. Those HKers who did not buy in Spore PCRD and instead buy in HK PCCW and HKT

3. Those Sporeans and local funds who did not buy PCRD after knowing ' it all' yet complaining SGX is ' not much opportunities...etc.... etc'

If i want to own PCCW shares, i have a choice :

to buy in HK PCCW shares or, to buy in Spore PCRD shares

those who are smart and quick enough will grab PCRD shares in Spore   (as by doing so, you ' are actually indirectly buying PCCW and HKT at a great discount' )

For those in doubts, kaerloche has contributed with a very very interesting articlce.

For those who spent time reading it, those who " toil in the farms" reap the harvest.

PCRD Q1 earnings will be announced either 11 May or 12 May based on past announcement trends. There after the share buyback will resume. 😃

But I also did my post my comment / opinion here that we can buy Alibaba stock in US. I mentioned about below USD 70 buy how much, below xx buy how much ...etc...but it was deleted by SJ.

Alibaba is the Most Exciting Stock I can shortlist from so many thousands of stocks. Apple and Google dont even come close.

I mentioned before also, if Alibaba is owned by an American say MZ instead of a Chinese say JM (though it is also owned by Japan Softbank and US Yahoo), Alibaba stock would be more than $150 by now.

We are all grown ups to make decisions and judgements for ourselves.

The pointers are there. If you want someone to say " yes, 100% sure and confident, then i aint the one. Only RL and JM can give the OK call"

Why they renew the " Share Buy Back Mandate" ?

They actually used up all the previous Buy Back Allocation, 100%

More than 300 mil shares bought back by Company. To be exact, 304,319,200 shares bought back.

NOT A SINGLE DROP LEFT OUT.

Whch company in Singapore has ever done that ? Myabe this is the 1st time in SGX history 100% allocation bought back.

Think Apple didnt even have such ' record of honor' in their BuyBack Scheme.

You want obvious hint? This is obvious.

Whether or not Alibaba/PCCW will materialize, there is no worry.  Once the blackout period is over, it is almost certain that the company will continue to do buybacks.  They were doing so at 405 level.  Which is higher than current last done price.  However, if investors want to take profit first, there is nothing wrong.  Nobody ever died from taking profits first.

But then, for me, I see good news coming from results and support from the shareholders.  Don' t see a need to take profits so early.  The dinner isn' t over yet, why so gan cheong to leave?  :)

Hi Guys, although my Mentor based in HK is a very wise old man, but I must not believe everything he said 100% . I must do my homework to search for some " evidence " for justification.

Look what I have found here:

Today HSI dropped more than 300 pts. But look at Lucky Number 8 (another incentive for suitors to try to own the one and only 8 in HK stock exchange) Share Price :

PCCW (8 )

1. Volume was good

2. 8 aka PCCW bucked the trend against HSI big drop and actually went up.

I tried to absorb what my HK based Mentor advised me.

Now thinking back, I was wondering, how come PCRD can opt to choose cash dividends or PCCW share scrips they didn' t choose cash but opt for the latter. They prefer PCCW shares to cash.

It means they find PCCW shares will be more valuable. Note that by taking cash, RL of PCRD can have cash from dividends too (and tax free) . So now, if my Mentor advice is correct, that explains.

And oh, I also remember although Alibaba Pictures are losing a bit of $, Zhao Wei & her husband even pumped in quite a big sum of $ to acquire a stake in Alibaba Pictures. Why so confident ? So my Mentor words of wisdom hold true ?

CalvinChia888      ( Date: 07-May-2015 18:55) Posted:

My Mentor who is based in HK advice is :

Alibaba Pictures may bid for PCCW in HK, as PCCW has what it takes to fill the missing link. Telco mobile, broadband business , pay tv ..etc

If HW bid for O2 very ok, then the chances get higher.

He says it is obvious as HK market share structure dictates so.

And he predicts with aplomb : Jack Ma ultimately will have 3 listed vehicles (1 in US, 1 in HK, 1 in China)

That' s part of the strategy to build and hold a business empire.

I hope my mentor is correct.

NOTE THE KEYWORD : HASTENED

O2 confirms takeover of mobile marketing venture Weve saying it will be 'faster' with one shareholderO2 confirms takeover of mobile marketing venture Weve saying it will

O2 has officially confirmed its acquisition of mobile marketing proposition Weve &ndash the mobile marketing joint venture it shared with EE and Vodafone.

The move,  understood to have been hastened by the forthcoming buyout of O2  by  Hutchison Whampoa, will see EE and Vodafone bow out of the partnership, with Weve to continue as an O2 subsidiary.

It means ?

All I can say is :

if the Company is willing to buy back PCRD shares @ 0.405, it already tells you how much the Company values PCRD.

as simple as that.
