Oh no. After May 2007, China fishery share plunge.

Any reason for the plunge?

Or was it an effect of the share split.

Came to know the following:

1. Copeinca, Peru's No. 2 fish exporter, said on  4 Mar 13  it has hired a team of financial advisors to " explore alternatives" after it received a $556 million unsolicited buyout bid from China Fishery Group.

2. On 4 Mar 13, the credit agency Fitch Ratings affirmed its BB- rating on China Fishery Group and removed it from its negative rating watch, saying no major deterioration or improvement is expected in the next 12 months. The decision reflects Fitch’s assessment that China Fishery – the fishing subsidiary of Pacific Andes International Holdings – " is not likely to suffer imminent substantial losses in its contract supply operations in Russia" , said Fitch.

Hi all, thank you for the insightful comments. I am a new investor and have a technical question: after being allocated rights after the book closure date of 25 March, within what period of time must I come up with the cash and exercise the rights, before the rights become expired?

The acquisition would be transformational, elevating China Fishery to become Peru’s largest producer, as well as among the world’s largest producers, of fishmeal and fish oil.

Peru is the largest producer and exporter of fishmeal and fish oil by volume in the world.

A good deal?

Has the additional shares from rights subscription been injected into the market for trading alr?

Not yet.

Assuming if i buy the shares on Monday e.x 1 lot, do I get to enjoy the rights issue?

So long you buy before XR (ie 21 Mar) and hold on to it, you are entitle to the right.

There will be period where the right   can be traded, we will know about the payment date by then.

News is positive, definitely elevating china fishery into a world player, however current mkt weakness is causing investors to stay aside, also to flush out those contra players and those not keen to apply rights. For those who are invested, stay the mid to long term, will propel china fishery price up and up because the gain in profits will be reaped in the next few qtrs. Raising funds thru rights is better than to borrow or issue ocnvertible bonds which incurr a high interest. Good management.
