Privatization via the share buyback route  seems difficult, unless  Richard Li  has the " friendly shareholders" who will sell 82000 or 83000 lots already in place. Easier to declare a trading halt and offer a delisting price e.g. 55 cts a share, still lower than the SOTP value of 62  to 63 cents.

Let' s see if there is further push from today' s big buyers ...

u dont expect him to privatise at RNAV right? haha.

anyway my base case scenario means i used the lowest PE for one comparison, and lowest yield for comparison to yield 2 different results and get an average of them.

i used regional telcos from thailand, china, HK, taiwan and sg.

rough figure i got for base case is approx 54c. but yeah everyone uses different estimates right so my base might be too low or too high, depending :)

Should it be more?

21.7% of 8.HK = SGD1.48b
1.5% of 6823.HK = SGD0.2b
Total is at least SGD1.68b (based on 2,738,769,800 shares, NAV is SGD0.61/share)

Market cap of PAC is now SGD1.2b

share buy back today only 100+ lots at 40.5c - someone else collecting.

using SOTP valuation of PCRD' s holdings, base scenario u get 54c. okay lah. maybe 50c. haha.

Nothing was given away at the AGM.  The Group MD of PCRD who chaired the meeting mentioned if PCRD intends to keep the listing, it will be careful to conduct its share buyback.

Wah, jwong016 - target price of 54 cts  (not much slack for RL I think).    I' ll consider to offload as soon as it hit above 45 cts, depending on the trading tempo ... and whether there is new information/news.

Today PCRD has closed at the high of $0.41. Tomorrow is T+3 and will see if the uptrend can be sustained.

Have a feeling that PAC will only buyback from its friendly forces at one shot (rather than bit by bit). That way, PAC only needs to buy back once and won' t drum up too much investor interest

As the lead independent director said, only Richard Li himself knows whether PCRD will be privatised. If PCRD were to aggressively buyback shares, we know it' ll soon be decision time for him.  I think it will not be easy to buyback 82180  (1000-share) lots of PCRD, without  pushing up the price by a few cents.    Anyway, the share price should  first easily break past the next resistance at 40.5 and move nearer to 45, which is still comparatively underpriced relative to its major components, PCCW and HKT.  Likely a good week ahead for PCRD shareholders ... cheers!

The PCRD stock has closed at $0.39 yesterday. It is definitely on a sustained uptrend. From the interactions of the AGM / EGM, the management will continue their aggressively share buyback as long as it does not impact the listing status of PCRD. From my personal view, the insurance and the asset management business will be injected into PCRD.

Vested 😊 .

Part of the borrowings probably went to subscribe for the 2014 HKT rights which cost them about S$24 mil. In addition, the borrowings is not much and only forms a tiny fraction of their facilities. Their undrawn facilities is more than S$300 mil, more than enough to easily refinanced the S$60mil+ borrowings. Even without the facilities, their annual dividend income from PCCW and HKT alone is enough to pay down all their debts. That' s how strong the cashflow is.
