sounds like a bullish chart forming then?

it has been stuck in the current range, hit a high of 34.5c recently in Nov before retreating to current level of 295/30c. in fact share price has been trading sideways since Aug

regardless, somewhat disappointing that the stock has paled in performance relative to peers. once a market darling but now trading at 10x PE, less than half of what the peers are trading at. ISEC' s recent privatisation offer was ~24x PE and that was regarded not fair but reasonable by IFA.

CHA should probably do a management buy-out together with Tony Tan and CEO' s stakes and privatise SMG

If you exclude the net bank cash, the fcf would have been left with almost nothing to pay dividend. But if you pay dividend fr. the bank, they would not be happy to meet you the next time.
Besides, Investor-One has said that by 1st h. , their cashflow has turned negative for the first time. The reasons for this is because of their acquisitions & high sale & admin. costs due
to their regional expansion. It is the same as our ppty cos. that ' ve gone regional in 13Nov' 19 BT article. This is not to say that smg is not a good co. I believe it is a good co. but only that
sog is perhaps a better bet for the time being with no such encumbrances.     wyeo.

they have been able to generate positive operating ($17.3m) and free cash flow ($4.7m) so wouldn' t be surprised that they do so regardless of the dividend, it is a company with strong fundamentals generating ~$13m net profit backed by reputable and strong shareholders - CHA and Tony Tan....yet it trades at half PE multiple of other healthcare peers in Singapore

Below is a quote taken from SingMedical Annual Report:

Given the Group&rsquo s improved financial performance, the Board is considering
the possibility of implementing a formal dividend policy in the financial year 2019.

Smg' s shares have stalled at 30 & 30cts for nearly the whole day now. Investor-One has reported that its net profit has been growing from 5+ to 15% as at ' 18. Lately its growth is muted because
of rising int. rates & fin. costs. It has not reported any dividends since its last in ' 10 & ' 11. I believe it is a very well-managed co. & cd overcome its set-backs soon. Perhaps, Sog is a better bet
for the time being with dividend on the card & its sh. price stabilising.     wyeo.

Only if and when the company decide to reward shareholders with dividend will it then attract interest.

Closed at 29.5 cts .. near historical low. Forward p/e should be below
11 X now. Probably the lowest p/e among all healthcare stocks.
For info only. Dyodd.

thanks for sharing - until the company does something such as buyback or if insiders continue their on-market purchases, share price may quietly slide back down

agreed, considering the huge valuation gap the peers are trading at with an average of 22x PE. recent privatisation of ISEC was offered at ~24x PE so that sets a benchmark for the earnings multiple private healthcare specialist should trade at. but then again, this is SGX and we have seen plenty of undervalued stocks who eventually share the same outcome of being privatised.

company last did share buy back at 30-30.5c the Koreans, CHA last bought from the management at 60.5c and converted their shares at 42.3c and now owns ~24% of the company in Feb 2019 am sure the Koreans have a broader strategic plan than to leave this company dwindling away in value.

valuations always speak for itself and should be a matter of time before market realises SMG' s intrinsic value, hopefully anyway

At 30.0 cts per share the trailing p/e is only 11.2X, probably the best value within the healthcare sector.

High Goodwill is common, as for Clinic/Dental/Kindergarten/Childcare listing, it involve a lot of branding from taking over of small business into one gaint.

Earning capacity is more important than NTA, for service industry.
