Grannies Bathing By The River...

Today' s price action is boh siang.
When the price dipped 1 bid, immediately sellers appeared to queue on the SELL side.
There was no bargain hunting. Sellers were not cleared.
Instead, buyers were cleared and the price got bumped down by another bid.
Again, sellers appeared in the SELL queue and the numbers start to pile up.
What this means is that if I queue to BUY and I am filled, there wont be an intraday rebound today for me to get out.
I will become stuck.
And if tomorrow this pattern continues, the price will dip further and further away from where I had bought.
So it looks like better dont queue to buy. Wait and see what she wants to do first.

Waaa....... got Small Cap Index.
Also got Micro Cap Index.
And The Trading Floor was added to the French Cap Index.

" UG Healthcare shares closed at S$0.98 on Thursday prior to the results announcement, up 2.6 per cent or 2.5 Singapore cents."

Back then in early November, she was at 98 cts.
Today, 68.5 cts. Down 29.5 cts.
So it was a SELL ON NEWS then when she last reported a 74-fold increase in profits. 
By the way, not auspicious to have a 74-fold increase in profits.
Why ar?
Say " 74" in Mandarin...sounds like what? Shake head.
 

 

I cant find anything on Miss Ugly reporting results tomorrow.
Anyway, didnt they already reported results last month on 7 Nov ?
The next one should be in late Jan or early Feb 2021, isn' t it?

UG Healthcare' s Q1 net profit jumps to S$22.7m from S$305,0000

GLOVE manufacturer UG Healthcare Corporation on Thursday reported net profit of S$22.7 million for the first fiscal quarter ended September, a 74-fold increase from net profit of S$305,000 in the corresponding quarter last year.

The group' s latest quarterly profit had also exceeded its FY2020 net profit of S$13.4 million, said the group in a bourse filing.

UG Healthcare' s revenue for the quarter rose to S$71.2 million from S$26.3 million in the year-ago period.

A higher volume of gloves sold, as well as higher average selling prices had helped boost the group' s topline figures. Stronger demand for disposable gloves and supply constraints were also contributors.

The group' s revenue contributions from Europe, South America, Africa and Asia each more than doubled in the period under review, while North America and others booked increases of 28.3 per cent and 41.3 per cent respectively.

Segmentally, UG Healthcare said its downstream distribution business has continued to see growing demand in all key markets for both developed and developing countries.

The upstream manufacturing business is also operating at its " optimum efficiency" of 2.9 billion pieces of gloves per annum, producing both nitrile and natural latex examination gloves. Some 85 per cent of these gloves are sold in UG Healthcare' s own brand, Unigloves, through its downstream distribution companies, the company added.

On the back of improved margins for both its upstream and downstream business segments, UG Healthcare' s gross margin for the quarter came in at 60.6 per cent, up by 41.7 percentage points year-on-year.

The company said that operating expenses for the quarter were " relatively stable" , and its finance costs had been reduced due to lower borrowings.

Short-term borrowings were also reduced significantly on the back of stronger operating cash flow, and the company remains in a net cash position as at end-September.

UG Healthcare said it is on track to achieve its production capacity expansion plans to cope with the higher demand for gloves that was brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. On Sept 8, the company said it has commenced work on a new manufacturing facility in Malaysia that will boost its production capacity by 1.2 billion pieces of gloves per annum.

The company is also looking to expand its production lines to produce an additional 500 million pieces of gloves per annum, which would bring its total production capacity to 3.4 billion pieces of gloves by end-March 2021.

UG Healthcare executive director and finance director Lee Jun Yih said: " We believe that our group' s strategy will drive production volume in our upstream manufacturing and enhance flexibility and sustainability in our business operations."

He added that the company is also expecting to benefit from further economies of scale beyond FY2021 with the additional capacity.

UG Healthcare said it has used some S$4.6 million out of the S$18.4 million in net proceeds that it had raised from the placement of 7.5 million new shares that was completed on Aug 21.

The group has utilised S$3.7 million of this amount for capital expenditure for production capacity expansion plans, while the remaining S$0.9 million was used for general working capital purposes.

After I bought she went down to 0.160 and I got spooked. This morn queued to sell at 0.163 and wasnt fast enough to withdraw it when it got snapped up. SIAN. After observing her price action for a few days, I feel that BUY & HOLD for longer term with cash account can do but short term trading also can do. Say just 60 lots...every 1 bid move is $60. Com for me at IG is $20 for a 2-way trade. By doing this to make anything from 1 to 5 bids, I can " give us this day our daily bread" .

 

I am wondering why COVID stocks today like got flu lidat dont want to move much.
Izzit they all waiting to see how the market will react to already expected good results from Miss Ugly.
If market reaction is no good, skarly the traders and stuckists in the other COVID stocks all run road first also.
I am raising this becoz I am asking myself has the landscape changed such that taking my next peep at the grannies by the river
may end up with Orh Bark Khark if we see a SELL ON NEWS at Miss Ugly when she hands in her report card.

Then the thing to watch is whether people chase on good results (which is already expected) or people sell on news.
And what we see in Miss Ugly... we can use it to predict the other COVID stocks.

Plus IG... if got bola, I also can play from the SHORT side and HUAT in both directions but somehow, something tells me
that play with her bananas is much safer than play her with cucumbers.

My com for cash account is 0.2354% + $0.3745 x 2 per trade. My com for IG is 0.09% x 2 per trade. I used 60 lots to do my calculations and discovered that the difference in dollar terms in the two coms.... that difference is enough to pay for 40 days of daily interest. What this means is that so long as I close a trading position in IG within 40 days, com plus daily interest at IG will still be lower than com with cash account. 40 days to close a trading position.... sounds damn good to me.  That' s why I have started on it. Now waiting for another dip to lower end of 0.16 to tikam LONG again.
