old article.   the acquistion  in Nov 14 has given it a new lifeline. 

50 mil bond issuance at 5.5% fully taken up.  

Seems all good so far.   Any history of the owners ...can share?
 

 

The earnings of Valuemax has been going up steadily since 2014, and dividends also increasing:

2014 Net profits = $8.994 millions, EPS 1.69 cents, div = 0.88 cents
2015 Net profits = $10.04 millions, EPS 1.88 cents, div = 0.95 cents
2016 Net profits = $15.56 millions, EPS 2.92 cents, div = 1.08 cents
Trailing 12 month, June 2017 , net profit = $17.57 millions, EPS 3.30 cents, div = 1.08 cents

Looks like a strong company whose business is growing steadily. Vested. And will accumulate more. 

 

 

It is normal. Valuemax gives property backed loans to customers, so always cash outflow. But it will make interests income, and principal repayments (then it will lend out again to other customers). It is not supposed to take deposits from customers I believe.

Bought some valuemax today. Sellers mostly Kim Eng. No CIMB in sight. 

 

I have not bought any Valuemax today yet. Anybody can tell me whether CIMB is still selling?

 

Bought quite a lot from CIMB last Friday and today. 

 

This company has also successfully branched into property backed loans. Good business model, as those property collaterals would be fetching a much higher price in the open market now, for clients who cant pay back. It is said that many loans taken from pawnshops are ultimately not paid back. So pawnshops sell those collaterals and make big profits.

 

Gold price has gone up a lot. Very good for pawnshops as they hold large amount of gold inventories.
