Covered in the edge magazine today. Luckily didn't get influenced by direcotor's spouse selling.

Agree with your view. 55 cents I also held on so I am unfazed by the price fluctuations. I see that the dividend should be sustainable so no plan to divest if the price is within current range.

going up again but up and down, not stable, I think someone is playing around the stock.

In any case hope 2Q result is stable but memtech usually dun do interim div, so I think slowly will no interest in this stock once the current craze for manufacturering stocks finish up.

SG manufacturing already shows a slowdown in 1Q. Caixin PMI also almost negative again last month only 50.2 i think next month might be negative liao.

Holding this for the past 2 years, relative short time but intend to hold longer. Thus far, I have collected 5.8 cents dividends. Price hit the low at 55 cents and high at 90 cents during my holding period. At times the price was below my cost price but at current price the paper gain is 28.8% with   dividends recevied factored in. The management is capable and shareholders friendly, with strong balance sheet and share price below NAV plus 40% dividend policy, I intend to stay vested for long term.

nope i already loaded up my allocation for this stock around 62c-63c time, when STI index was lower and they had resumed profitability. Will be holding till at least NAV to sell. Short term up and down doesn' t really concern me too much, not a day trader. SSH bought at 85.5c recently, so seems encouraging for next q results, but I think drop in auto sales in china and slowdown will make the next q results flat or dip a bit. The revenue from auto side shoud be around 40%+ to 50% liao so any slowdown in auto industry in China will affect Memtech, hence my projection.

Longer term memtech should do well with the Apple Beats contract so long as Apple doesnt ' tua' them again. The contracts for Tesla and car parts producer Faurecia will also be good revenue coming in.

It seems that you have sold already? since you foresee it dropping

bluekelah      ( Date: 11-May-2017 08:42) Posted:

I am surprised it rebounds, perhaps good sentiment in the market now. However I think this is short term, could very well go back lower. Depends on this q result which may not be so spectacular as China car sales was down this year from the sales tax hike. Year end christmas boom season also over for consumer electronics.

all the manufacturers have been rerated and whole sector is flying up today. Memtech seems to be way lagging its peers. probably one of the few manufacturers still trading under book value (US$0.80 which is equivalent to about S$1.11). CIMB has a TP of S$1.09.

If you can hold for long term. You see, big volume again and price went up. Director' s spouse' s holding was not much and sometimes, for whatever reasons, a decision is made to sell. Perhaps need money for somehting else, perhaps to cash in, perhaps for new investment elsewhere etc etc. NAV is around $1 so maybe want to sell nearing there? For me, I know the company is generous on dividend. In lean time they also tried and gave dividend. In good time, they usually payout around 40% of net profit. If the share price sustained at reasonable level, I will stay vested for the dividend yield.

Jfierce      ( Date: 05-May-2017 17:25) Posted:

Ah I see... well u can always sell to take profit rather than lose money as the price slides back to the 60 cent range?

HVRRVH      ( Date: 05-May-2017 17:13) Posted:

Yes. Sharp drop after director's spouse selling and xd. I am not perturbed because he volume was much larger when the price was surging. Fundamentally still sound and if someone want to sell there is nothing I can do😂
