With declining net interest margins (NIMs) on the back of lower interest rates, banks now have to prop up their bottom lines with non-interest income, including wealth management income.

The broader trends are in their favour. Singapore?s concerted efforts to become a regional wealth management hub have helped attract top wealth managers to set up shop here. Local incumbents have been seizing growth opportunities across the region as well, albeit with varying degrees of aggressiveness.

The recent fighting in the Middle East has accentuated Singapore?s status as a safe haven, with anecdotal reports of wealthy individuals moving cash previously parked in Dubai over. Total Singapore deposits increased by 7.2% y-o-y to $2.1 trillion in March, up by $66.2 billion. The three banks reported a total of $52 billion y-o-y deposit growth in 1Q2026. DBS Group Holdings and United Overseas Bank?s (UOB) deposits rose by 9% each to $19 billion and $17 billion, respectively, while Oversea-Chinese Banking Corporation?s (OCBC) deposits rose 10% y-o-y to $16 billion.

20 million stocks in open short positions (nearly 7%), it is the max % of short positions of any stock currently. Daily average volume is low, less than 1 million. I am hoping & waiting for the short squeeze.

How can we check whether the institutions such as the Temasek company are still dumping the stock, or actually buying?

Share price need to move above the neckline to invalidate the H& S pattern.
At present, finding support neaer the ascending trendline.

if the share price is cheap enough, insiders will sure buy...no signs of insiders buying at this price...

Actually it does not matter what we think but how the broader market (funds, big players) think of IFAST. If they see it as a mini bank (ocbc -) equivalent or akin to Great Eastern Life Insurance, it will accord it its water level.

Metrics are cold hard numbers, undisputed. If nobody interested, it can still be in the doldrums. If got interests, it can be xxx PE and people still buy. I still recalled Creative was once the most expensive stock (> $60) in SGX then, much more than any of 3 banks. It did not make sense, it happened.

Give IFAST more time, just like DBS which didn' t reach such absolute level until recent times.

Vested.

What is the science or real definition of a Growth, Value  or Income stock is immaterial as long it serves your purpose? For me, as long it covers inflation, beats SA rate by 2-3x, I would be very happy liao.
