Yes, ignore the noise, focus on the fundamental. Good PE. Good PBV. Good growth. Good industry
This set of good quarterly results truly put my mind at ease that SIIC is doing quite excellently during this somewhat " uncertain period" in China. Hope that share price will return to the 20s when the macro environment is better.  I invest in this and China Everbright Water more for the dividends.  Looks like they can continue to give good dividends!

SIIC Environment to acquire Yun Shui Technology for S$57.4m
MAINBOARD-LISTED SIIC Environment : BHK +0.65% announced on Thursday (Nov 3) that its wholly owned subsidiary has entered into a sale and purchase agreement to acquire investment holding company Yun Shui Technology at a consideration of 296.2 million yuan (S$57.4 million).

Yun Shui Technology, a wholly owned subsidiary of Yunnan Water (Hong Kong), was listed for bidding with a price of 296.2 million yuan, according to the applicable laws in the People&rsquo s Republic of China.

Together with the listing price, the bidding price was also determined with reference to the enterprise value of 297.9 million yuan as at Dec 31, 2021 &ndash the entire value of the shareholders&rsquo equity in the company &ndash the group noted in a bourse filing the same day.

The consideration amount will be funded by internal resources of the group and will be remitted to Yunnan Water (Hong Kong) in one lump sum within three business days from the agreement.

Assuming the acquisition effected on Jan 1, 2021, the pro forma net profit for SIIC Environment would have rose by 1.4 per cent to RMB716 million as compared to RMB706.2 million before the acquisition, whereas pro forma earnings per share would slightly decrease to RMB27.73 cents, as compared to RMB27.35 cents previously.

Yun Shui Technology currently holds three wastewater treatment plant projects and one water supply plant project in the Yangtze Delta region, with a total designed treatment capacity of 160,000 tonnes. The unaudited book value and net tangible asset value of the company both stood at RMB150.1 million as at Jun 30, 2022.

&ldquo The acquisition will enable the group to expand its wastewater treatment capacity in the Yangtze Delta region and generate returns for the group,&rdquo the filing said.
SIIC touched $0.146 today. Thankfully volumes during this decline (from $0.27 in Jan' 22) have not been too heavy.
Am not very sure what is the impact of Xi Jinping' s third term going to have on the fortunes of SIIC. China needs lots of clean water for its people and that is what SIIC has been delivering consistently for decades.
The main negative is the huge amounts of debt that they have. So investing in SIIC is an individuals call on whether a state backed enterprise will be able to keep going in a rising rates environment (globally). However to the best of my knowledge it is quiet a different interest rates scenario in China...
Any inputs from fellow shareholders will be most welcome.

there are two sides of a coin, for china, the interest rate is super low compare to other countries, so might be an opportunity. Also 20 big will be on 16th oct. Might see huge fireworks

I think the main concern on this counter is its huge debt at 17B vs 3B cash!
There are current risks associated with investing in SIIC (and China Everbright Water) shares.  Both are doing well in their water businesses.  Presently, the Chinese reminbi is weakening  (Reminbi:S$ is probably about 5:1 presently, as against 4.6:1 a yr or two ago), short-term operation costs has increased (due to electricity prices etc) and the worst is whether the Chinese CCP will come up with any unwelcoming regulations (so far none).  But I think the payment of 1.5 Singapore cents (and for Everbright, 2.0 to 2.2 Singapore cents) annual dividend  will stay.  Will have to ride through short-term uncertainties. Hopefully, investors will come to realise the value of SIIC (and China Everbright Water) as reliable dividend stocks trading at low P/E ratios. Vested.

I have many encounters with shares having this characteristic. One example is Excelpoint.
There was hardly any interest for 2 to 3 years despite its low p/e and high dividend.
I held on to it and was eventually rewarded w a multi bagger. There were other shares that i bought
with the same characteristics and and by and large they had done very well. Pls note that I am not
encouraging anyone to buy SIIC or other companies w same characteristic. I am just sharing my
experience. To hold to such shares one needs conviction and patient. And so long as the storyline
didnt change i will continue to hold on to it. In the meantime i am collecting an excellent amount
of dividends while waiting.
Pls note, if the storyline change to negative then what i say will not hold.

Wonder why SIIC is quite an ignore stock ? It a stable n growing environmental stock with good earning n dividends payout twice per yr (total 7.14%) n also its forwards around PE of 21/(2.89c x2)= 3.63 with an NAV of 76.2c.
Looking at the numbers above this stock is grossly under value. On the business expect, it doesn' t affect by covid or recession if any.
