What you suggest is possible, but what I ask myself is if this is the case why would they do it? I don' t think management or the board are out to destroy value, and in fact with the intended wind down of the company I think the big shareholders and the rest of us are now more aligned in wanting the same thing (maximise returns to investors as quickly as possible) than we have ever been, now that the previous CEO (who had ties with a specific shareholder) has left.

I have noted elsewhere that it seems some debt that Olam has pays very high interest rates. For myself, if rather than paying a special dividend the company uses the proceeds to pay off debt that is paying more than 10% interest I would be happy. Otherwise I see no reason why management would delay paying out a special dividend.

Olam AGM minutes is out and gave me the impression that shareholders will get 10 to 15 cents special dividends. Anyone disagree?

 

Guess Temasek , Mitsubishi, sunny and Muthu also want the special dividends.

It will be nice if some accountant can work out how much divestment proceeds left after settling off the bonds and debts whatsover, rather than to assume the integrity of the promises made

 

I revisit the result briefing on 27 Feb , it shown in the Blanc and white slight also .not just words from Sunny ! Olam just have to honour

 

If management' s promises turn out to be No  Action, Talk Only, then it is time we hold them accountable.

Olam received the proceeds on 15 may , but still.no action from the management on the special dividend ?
