Coal deal hunters descend on Indonesia as demand peaks
NUSA DUA, Indonesia, Sept 20 (Reuters) - For more than 1,200 people gathered at a hotel in Indonesia' s resort island of Bali this week the message was clear: coal is here to stay.

After two years of pandemic disruptions, Asia' s top coal industry event Coaltrans is back in Bali with a turnout that some participants say mirror those seen during the boom years about a decade ago.

Buyers all over Asia, and some from Europe, flew in to the conference to hunt for any coal supply they can secure ahead of winter, as global supply shortages and growing energy security concerns drive an unprecedented rebound in coal demand.

" Coal never went anywhere. We got another 20 years with coal, like it or not," Ben Lawson, an executive with Sanaman Coal, said on the sideline of Coaltrans when asked if coal is back. These participants gathered as benchmark Newcastle coal CO-FOBNWC-AU surged to over $440 per tonne while Indonesia' s coal benchmark price COAL-HBA-ID for September was set at $319.22 per tonne after hitting a record $321.59 in August..........

Not too sure if new CEO reward as good as Tung who retirement konsi cfm alrdy.
But Geo controlled by shorties, now only 37.0/37.5, watamanipulateexch, price cannot up wan lah, so q lower maybe 35-36 and wait for shorties to sell for peanuts.

I loaded at 37.5 yesterday too. If medium and long term investors Just hold on and not sell. The selling will disappear and price will be stable and creeping up slowly

Russian thermal coal at 5,500 kcal on delivery basis to China was assessed at about US$155 a tonne in late August, up from about US$150 a tonne a month earlier.

Everybody can do the maths and know geo energy is doing very well in 2021 and 2022.
paid back all debts and net cash so much since 2021.
Problem is capital allocation. Only with share buyback + current dividend then the share price will move.
CEIX / NHC / WHC all sell coal and all share price move upwards so much. 
Whitehaven coal with their coal profit, they did share buyback+dividend which made the share price move alot.

Are they waiting for new ceo then they announce / do share buyback(to look good on his kpi)? 
US$218 million of cash as at 19 August 2022 did they say how they intend to utilise this?
I hope they dont use the profit anyhow invest/expand their empire, only capital returns via share buyback and dividends will be good for shareholders at current price.
