TUNG Kum Hon, the chief executive officer (CEO) of mainboard-listed Indonesian coal producer Geo Energy Resources since 2015, will step down from the top post on Dec 31, the company announced on Friday (Sep 16).
The 63-year-old, who holds 12 million ordinary shares in the company, will also relinquish his role as executive director of the company on the same day, it said in a bourse filing.
The company is now searching for a new CEO and will make an announcement when the appointment has been made, Geo Energy said.
In the bourse filing, the company did not give a reason for Tung&rsquo s retirement it only declared that there are no unresolved differences in opinion on material matters between him and the board of directors.
Shares of Geo Energy closed down 1.3 per cent at S$0.38 before the announcement.

Dhamma Surya the co founder of Geo is the former CEO of Geo. He together with Antonny Melati the Chairman are instrumental to the success of Geo. I don?t see any concern with the departure of Tung. It will be business as usual.

Why suddenly CEO retired? This is shocking as profit looks awesome. Again he did not hold significant shareholding in GEO..
There may be internal disagreement....just recall...Lenny started selling till she become a non SSH. There may be other things.
Hopefully by end of this year he could find a good successor or form a good team to continue his legacy.

I find it odd also. But hopefully his lieutenants can hold the fort. But he will be around till end of the year. Near terms as in a couple of Q's I don't think it will affect Geo's business much but I am expecting rumour mongers now 😆 . Who is the visioneer in Geo?
