Apple' s recent record earnings could have a positive impact on this counter earning.

XiaoMi is also having a robust sales and gaining market shares.Hi-P' s new Natong plant will improve cost structure and expand production capacity.

The stock is undervalued trading at 1.0x fwd P/B below its peers multiple of 1.2x forward P/B.

Q3 revenue down by 32% but net profit increased by 243%. But what I like is the gross profit margin, it actually jumped from 6.5% to 9.4%. My personal take is that the industry is not doing that well, but I think the Xiaomi contract alone boosted  Hi-p bottom line by quite a fair bit.

Price has slid to 68.5 cents.

It' s become speculative, as noone can really pin a value to prospective earnings.  Therefore, we really do not know what value to ascribe to the share.

Not vested.

Good estimates.        Xiaomi phones are one of the cheap ones in the mkt, not sure if the estimate of 80 SGD dollar for a shell is right, looks on the high side.

There' s very little info save for CIMB analysts' reports that are wrong most of the time.      Hard to pin a value to the share.

Estimated cost of that Mi4 stainless steel part contracted to Hi-p and Foxconn is 400cny, or about $80sgd per phone. Estimated Mi4 delivery is about 1 million units in first 2 mths, followed by 1.5 million units per month. So estimated mi4 sales is about 16 million unit in first year. Total revenue generated is s$1.28b for Hi-p and foxconn. Assuming Hi-p holds only 30% split of the production with Foxconn holding the other 70%, then revenue addition to Hi-p is about s$384million. Gross margin I'm not very sure how much would it be. Note: my figures might be way way off, so just take it as a pinch of salt.

Hard to put a thumb on how much revenue it will generate from the Xiaomi contract, and there is that privacy issue that is still outstanding.

There is euphoria from the news initially, but price has shot up by a lot and there remains to be seen how much profitability will come about from the contract.

Not sure what it does for Xiaomi, is it the plastic part and how much margins would that generate?
