China and the United States agreed to a 90-day ceasefire on new tariffs in their trade war at the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, allowing a reprieve after months of threats and stalled talks.

The decision for the US to hold off on planned tariff increases on US$200 billion in Chinese goods from 10 to 25 per cent on January 1 came over a grilled steak dinner in Argentina, the first face-to-face meeting between US President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping since the start of the conflict.

Three Asian groups are interested in acquiring two container terminals put on sale by Brazilian private port operator Wilson Sons, Brazilian newspaper Valor Economico reported on Thursday.

Singapore&rsquo s PSA and China&rsquo s Hutchison Port Holding and China Merchant Port Holdings have delivered non-binding proposals for terminals in Salvador, in the northeastern state of Bahia, and Rio Grande, in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, the paper said, without saying how it got the information

Happened to access the SGX site today n found Tumasek' s filing that PSA International had on 1 Nov 18  bought 7.3 mil units of HPHT in the open mkt.  Hmmm, positive sign?

Qanghoo      ( Date: 03-Nov-2018 01:06) Posted: HPHT' s  profit n share px  have kept sliding over the last few qtrs, but  continues to be  a good div stock overall.  So, it wldn' t be surprising to read that buy calls are being kept.  But what is important to note is that TP keep  being lowered.  Thus, if an investor had heeded a TP of 50c, say, two yrs ago n bought at 40c, say, he/she wld still be negative even if the 36c TP is realised.  But management itself has continued to warn of the challenging operating env n pointed out that if trade tensions continue, the likely damage wld be difficult to quantify at this juncture.  The stock px, like so many others these last few days, has been buoyed by the Trump-et blaring of a possible ceasefire on the trade-war front.  N if  the US-PRC impasse is really broken, chances are that this one  cld really  fly  in anticipation n relief that  the operating env n profitability wld  significantly improve.  Otherwise, it just might well sink deeper as profitability  wld likely  be further eroded by the malaise of protectionism.  Important :  DYODD. best thing about Midas , there are many clowns shouting it will go higher even at near 21c, something is brewing and their exuberance about moving shares to HK for price trading difference ... they claim they hold hundred and thousands of shares . Once trading halt comes , they say takeover target price 54 cents blah blah blah

I kind of regret if i had sold too early
