Bloomberg news said 3 companies expressed interest. KKR one of them. Likely end of March then have news. One Malaysian property also doing due diligence.

What is also critical is how the " Hunger Games" will end. It will be interesting.
Even some of the pennies getting buyout offers...so SGX only going to be the sole counter on the SGX...but agree with you, every 5 mins lately this counter going private, then this, then that....cannot keep up....and if I remember SGX came out announcing this year IPO numbers would increase...who would have an IPO on SGX...have IPO today go private tmr...

Almost one counter getting General Offer everyday, yesterday Spindex today UE? Soon SGX no more counters left except for pennies! Haha....

Agreed and good for those who hold OCBC GE for long long term...retirees and investors.
BUT share prices move fast / and ahead ....so what wld happen to OCBC price ......

If UE announced to be sold today going to be long time before special dividend so if going to hold OCBC and/or GE for that long then one better be patient...once any deal finalized and concluded may get special div but that many months from now even if announce sale of UE...

Trading halt
Requested trading halt...will halt all day or not?...doubt they going to announce sale but may put halt in to calm things down...sell or not...I cannot decide...held this stock for 2 years...finally back in black...do push it hold on or sell and say thank you...

Writer is correct...UE sale is a matter of when ......I guess again its the price. OCBC is in process of selling off core assets to concentrate on banking and wealth mgt. Not a surprise for its share price to go to $10 or more.
the sale of UE might even offer a special dividend.
The real value of UE is hard to guess....good luck

I dont hv it too. I guess its history as UE was torn up and part sold. Very tough to know its true value when OCBC last hold it .
( things and asset has change so much since then ) .
Whatever, OCBC and GE will benefit from this sale...and hopefully justify a special dividend.
