Very very aggressive buying of CDLHT today.  People may be looking beyond COVID to 2021 now, and good times returning to Singapore tourism and commercial business.
Nice run up. Took profit and wait for retracemment :)
They also get 75percent labour pay subsidy until year end. Shiok right.

Recall they are using their hotels to house quarantine and return cases and staff salary subsidised 75 percent? So they may not be in all that bad a shape. Also other country ending their lock down.

BEIJING (REUTERS) - China has approved early-stage human tests for two experimental vaccines to combat the new coronavirus that killed over 100,000 people worldwide, state media Xinhua reported on Tuesday (April 14).
The vaccines are being developed by a Beijing-based unit of Nasdaq-listed Sinovac Biotech, and by the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, an affiliate of state-owned China National Pharmaceutical Group.
In March, China had the green-light for another clinical trial for a coronavirus vaccine candidate developed by the military-backed China's Academy of Military Medical Sciences and HK-listed biotech firm CanSino Bio.

Yes - forget about First Half 2020 dividends, just look beyond to recovery in 2H 2020 and beyond.  People will travel and spend with a vengeance after COVID is over.  Things like COVID bring a strong reality check that no point saving for the future, when many people can just die because of a little tiny virus.

i m not expecting them to do a conversion. what i m thinking here is this is the worse case.
most land in singapore are not freehold or perpetual freehold.
revelopment still happens when there is demand and profit to be made.
i m thinking that in 6 months if covid-19 is not over. the world will find a way to live around it.
and activities will slowly return to normal.

To be fair - that Marco Polo property was Freehold. Most of CDLHT properties in Singapore, if not all - are 99 leasehold with many leases running down. But, the overseas properties are mainly Freehold. Anyway, the Sponsor is Strong and Reputable. That may be its saving grace.

this is buying distressed asset. do not expect to have immediate gain.
the value has gone back 1st week listing price. has property market drop to 2006 price?
in the worse case close all hotel and wait. the bricks and mortar is much cheaper to maintain only.
land in prime locations is worth value.
remember omni marco polo was redeveloped into condo.
