Ah I see... well u can always sell to take profit rather than lose money as the price slides back to the 60 cent range?

Yes. Sharp drop after director's spouse selling and xd. I am not perturbed because he volume was much larger when the price was surging. Fundamentally still sound and if someone want to sell there is nothing I can do😂

Wow.... the share has dropped 12.5 cents since it last touched resistance at 90 cent... gone case

I already vested long ago but I like this piece so cut and paste to share here. Usually when share price drop we get worry but I feel ' zen' when Memtech' s price retreated yesterday:) Just looking at the big volumes accompanied the price run up this could be big players shaking off weak holders.

Here' s why UOB Kay Hian likes this under-appreciated precision engineering gem

SINGAPORE (April 25): UOB Kay Hian is initiating coverage on components solution provider Memtech International with a " buy" and a target price of $1.05.

" Companies operating in the precision engineering space experienced a sector re-rating over the last few months, driven by stronger 2H16 results and M& A interest," says UOB analyst Nicholas Leow in a retail report on Tuesday.

Memtech, however, remains of the sector laggards.

Calling it an " under-appreciated gem" , Leow says Memtech' s strong balance sheet, consistent dividend track record, and potentially strong 2017 performance could mean a bigger dividend for shareholders this year.

According to Leow, Memtech could potentially pay a dividend of 3.5 cents in 2017, translating into a 4.4% yield - " with possibility of more" .

The company has an official dividend policy of paying out 30% of earnings, but has paid out closer to 40% of core earnings over the last two financial years, Leow says. In addition, Memtech has not missed a dividend payment over the last decade.

While results in first half of last year were slowed by a delay in production for the Beats by Dre headphones, the analyst expects a year-on-year turnaround in 1H17.

" We expect Memtech to sustain its earnings momentum from 2H16 into 2017, driven by new project wins and larger orders from existing automotive customers," says Leow.

According to Leow, Memtech is trading at a " compelling" FY17F PE of 8.6x.

" In a sanity check, Memtech' s FY17F P/B multiple is a meagre 0.7x with an expected FY17 ROE of 8.2%," says Leow. " We do not think that Memtech deserves to be trading at such a substantial discount to its peers."

In addition, Leow opines that Memtech could be a potential M& A target, which would likely see further upside to its target price.

" M& A remains a distinct possibility given Memtech' s large exposure to the automotive sector, strong balance sheet, good operating cash flow, clean capital structure and 50% of the shares held by management and insiders," says Leow.

As at 3pm, shares of Memtech International are trading 5 cents higher at 84 cents.

looks like the share price already started adjusting on Friday after the results release. YoY revenue/earnings was actually growing.

don' t care much for forward PE multiples these analyst always like to use. As if they have a crystal ball and can predict like that.

But I do think a profitable and slowly growing manufacturing company , with such a good balance sheet and is fair to shareholders with div payouts, should at least trade at NAV, if not a slight premium, even though its a small cap.

thanks for posting here :D

I suspect the threads are not synchronized as there was a share consolidation and hence the old stock code might have been removed but the threads were still left in the system. This thread should be under the more recent one.

anyways this month the quarterly results coming out should tell us if business is on track or not. I am sure the share price will adjust accordingly.

Hi bluekelah, ref other thread on the same company, yes, only 1 old old thread came up if you click ' stock' or ' forum' . I can' t remember which one. But well, since you created this thread we can discuss the company in this thread then.

Taking Wind' s comments on board, it is good to be wary and comprehensive in our research before we investing our money. Memtech is not s-chip but that' s not my point. To simply cast aspersion and doubt just because the company is s-chip or related to China seems   too ' kiasi' . Like it or not, China is world' s 2nd largest economic (don' t count EU) and s-chip or not, a lot of companies have to do business with and/or in China. Like Nordic, one of my favourtie pure Singaporean stocks.

Risks are everywhere in investing. I can cite endless examples where non s-chips ended up losing investors' monies. The famous ABL and their related companies is one. You also have Jason Holding and some others. I can also give many successful s-chips examples but I think it is not necessary.

Turning to Memtech, I like its strong balance sheet, low PE and low share base. I also like their dividend payout policy. It may not exactly be a growth stock but it fit in to my overall porfolio because I foresee healthy dividend and downside is limited. In contrast, Nordic (different sector) is growing and at the same time, its dividend is also generous.

yah China big financial clampdown now, quite bad situation, a bit like the period end of 2015 and early 2016. Commodities like iron ore already crashed 30%+ these few months.

Memtech make the beats will make money. But may have negative surprise for the auto parts they make as China car sales quite bad now.

But all the analyst like now trying to push this stock.

I just make this thread coz the other thread seems doesnt come up under memtech when i click under forum.

factories are in China but its a local company run by local crew.

Recent rally coz of lim& tan / UOB and OCBC analyst recommend.

Still trading beow NAV and lots of net cash despite recent move.

Definitely not overpriced either.
