JG Summit Holdings Inc. and its food unit Universal Robina Corp. are set to be removed from the MSCI Philippines Index following the global index provider&rsquo s February review, a move that could weigh on their share prices as investors adjust portfolios.
The two companies, both controlled by bilyonaryo Lance Gokongwei, will be reclassified into the MSCI Philippines Small Cap Index, joining Monde Nissin Corp., MSCI said in its latest quarterly assessment. The changes take effect after the market closes on Feb. 28.

MSCI indices serve as key investment benchmarks for global fund managers, and inclusion or exclusion can significantly influence capital flows.
JG Summit, with interests in aviation, real estate, banking, and petrochemicals, and URC, a leading food and beverage player in Southeast Asia, remain key players in the local market despite the downgrade.
How investors react to their reclassification will be closely watched in the coming weeks.

Smaller size than Singapore Land Group,  CENTURION Corporation is currently exploring the establishment of a real estate investment trust (Reit) comprising some of its workers and student accommodation assets.
Our dear Singapore Land Group Management still status quo.
I wonder if they are still back from their expensive year end holidays.
upcoming agm and after, we shouldn' t bring up businesses questions. Because years after years, the answer is the same. We should rather ask them how' s your holidays, what type of wine and cheese do you fancy. All the luxury experiences questions. Like hotel staycation they like, which restaurants do they go to and so on

Lance gokongwei in charge of JG Summit holding which holds 37 % of Singapore land holdings have been massively expanding business in Philippines

so basically Singapore land group to JG summit is really a non core assets that contributes little earnings to them but a massive equity value.  Lance gokongwei  spending spree on Philippines needs a lot of capital. That' s where he may or may not want to sell his stake and move on. He also want to unlock value in Singapore land group

UOL Group Limited
Annual General Meeting Held On 24 April 2024
Mr Goh Han Peng commented that a significant portion of the Group' s office assets was held through Singapore Land Group Limited (" SingLand" ) and asked whether further consolidation of interest in SingLand via a share swap arrangement was possible. Mr Wee Ee Lim replied that it was necessary to consider the practicality of such arrangement and that there could be challenges as SingLand' s shareholders were not the same as the Company' s shareholders and it would be necessary to engage them

Mr Yuen Chung Kwong enquired if the Company would consider acquiring the remaining approximately 12% public float of SingLand and delisting SingLand. Mr Yuen Chung Kwong mentioned briefly the earlier delisting of Singland' s subsidiary, Singland Properties Limited (formerly known as Singapore Land Limited). Mr Wee Ee Lim said that such corporate exercises would need to be evaluated in the context of the Group' s strategic intentions and could be considered at an appropriate time.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM THE SHAREHOLDERS AT THE 62ND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (" AGM" ) OF SINGAPORE LAND GROUP LIMITED (" SINGLAND GROUP" ) HELD ON 26 APRIL 2024 |
|
Given the Company' s low share price and trading liquidity, have the substantial shareholders considered acquiring shares from the minority shareholders, or has the Company explored the possibility of merging with UOL? If the general offer price is favourable, shareholders are willing to sell their shares. |
|

  |
As required by the SGX Mainboard Listing Rules, a listed issuer must ensure that at least 10% of the total number of the issued shares are held by the public to maintain its listing status. Although the majority of its shares were held by the substantial shareholders, they were made up of two different parties and presently, there has not been any indication from any of the substantial shareholders that they would acquire more shares of the Company. Management would look into this matter and consider it at the appropriate time. |
