For borrowed shares, you will have to continue to pay interest rate on a daily rest basis till you buy back.
For naked short, since you dont have scripts to deliver to your buyer/s, this one you have to check with your brokerag |

This deal sounds too good to be true. Like JES paying SCIBOIS CO. LTD 1 gold bar, then JES is guaranteed 6 gold bars in return within 4 years, upon listing in a reputable stock exchange, its going to be worth 15 gold bars. And the forest they are buying over has a potential 100 gold bars.
Note 1 Gold bar is worth USD 30 million.
As a seller, it look stupid to accept such a cheap offer that has a potential worth of USD 3 billion.
Now with this buyout thing, the share price is hung at same price just before Halted. |

SGX should have taken a hard look at this company for coming out with so many made to believed deals, the so-called takeover of mineral company worth over US$500b for just tens of millions in investment by way of share placement. Or the Congo forestry deal worth over US$30b for just a song. Or the huge ship orders worth over US$1b but company ended up in receivership after so many investors got trapped by this company.

An appeal has been made, but whether the court will let it succeed will have to see how it explains.
If cannot restructure, then creditors will suffer, while some debtors (if any) might even absorn, lol.
Then if no restructing, the chances of relisting in Singapore also may be an issue, then Singapore shareholders may have to say bye bye with their investments.
