It would be a good idea if Sheng Siong wants to buy over the company.   SS could benefit very greatly from the large leases of farmland in China and the established global Sunmoon networks.   It is a much worthwhile target for food and agricultural companies as well as property developers since China is about to allow conversion of " unproductive" farmlands to property development.   Can make good killings with a takeover of Sunmoon in many respect.

...can we have Mr Sheng Siong to buy over the company...? That would boost his regional and global presence.... :)

You might be right on the mark.   RTO or acquisition would be the best solution to lingering problems of old managements unable to accept the emotion of change from old ways of running a business.   Maybe they also think " what the heck? Have been slogging for years, and no improvements. Arrrgh, forget it lah, let younger and or more brilliant people run the shows, and we just relax."

Honestly it is quite shameful to continue to run a business that lost money and yet don't feel paiseh.   Hope someone can see the value and negotiate for a takeover or sorts. There is opportunity in this company. Cheers.

Company is also doing charity and giving to the disabled, the born disabled, etc,   according to its website.

Not that I am against charity, I myself have been a volunteer as a person, in charitable NGOs & Grassroots before, but why mix business with charity work?

I don't understand please, charity work is charity work, business is business.   We are investing to make more money so that we can help the underprivileged, but please make money for shareholders also.   Cheers!!

I think sunmoon got the potential to grow. the question is only how long it takes to reward the shareholders.

World food is scarce and if you are dealing with food and food products in whatever form, you are going to hit the right note if you manage the biz with full commitment.

Sunmoon has what it takes to become a major food and food products supplier providing worldwide, now it is slated for biz in many parts of the world, eg. China and America.

Don't see much reasons why they cannot make the grade.   Lol..

thanks for the replies from all the shifus!

A closer look at its latest release, the $13m is generated from a write off of its convertible loans from the PE who has invested in them. Overall operating performance is still in deep reds.

Wah v risky counter. But i think at a market cap of approx. 30m coupled with some fixed assets and distribution chains, do u think they could be a target for acquisition or perhaps the " in" RTO thing which is going on.

Actually the third quarter of 2013, the company made abt 12 million dollars in net profits, but after deducting tax, depreciation, and amortization the figures were not impressive. Thus the share px dropped instead of climbed.

Still not hoping anything for Sunmoon yet.

Sifu no, but I think they have a problem though their products are very saleable and well accepted in the market. You find their products in every supermaket in Singapore.   In addition they have they own retail outlets for their fruits and vegies and instant fresh fruit drinks.

Several quarters before they were making some profits, but subsequently their accounts showed losses again. Maybe they love red more than blue inks, hahaha. Seriously, I don't think the share price of Sunmoon would ever go up, even after their directors great grand children were born into their families in the decades ahead...   Jokes only, but hope it may not come true.   Hahaha!!!

Been buying sunmoon products for years, didnt know they are in such turmoil. Their products are honestly not too bad.

Can it be a potential acquisition target for other food companies, advice from shifus here? considering to vest some dividend money =D

In investing in shares of company like Sunmoon and Digiland, (for example only because these two are the maxi micro pennies),   remember that the dollar invest will not have short term returns on capital and gains.   Every initial trade of buying from the sellers would incur you a loss of 50% of your capital should you want to liquidate for return of your own cash outlay.

So be very careful in such counters with your money.

The only time that one should invest in these maxi micro (I call it that because it has the maximum lowest price possible), and could profit from trades would be on super good news, extraordinary ones such as new investments, huge unexpected profits, a windfall in striking a deal that can be analysed as a golden deal. Otherwise, stay away and at worst bite the bullets and sell everything and delete the counter from your watch-list.   This way, you won't fall prey or become a " sucker to scheming" director/directors after your money.

Merry Christmas!!

Agree about the 1 lot being a possible enticement/trap.

However, looking back, it was hardly possible to clear the 0.002 buy queue. Recent trading sessions have seen huge volume of 0.002 done, therefore should raise the alert level for those who are vested.

I am vested at 0.002. Watching closely now.

bigmoney      ( Date: 13-Nov-2013 15:56) Posted:

There was onbly 1 lot done at 0.001. It's just  a fake/trap to mislead people to sell down at 0.001.

Just tested water, got a little bit at .002, queuing up for .001 loading now, then planning to sit and wait...likely to take ages, right? even to get up to selling at .003?

0.001 done.

So, not surprising despite perceived good results.

MichaelSchenker      ( Date: 04-Nov-2013 15:09) Posted:

It's the opposite. Note opening, high, low is 0.002. That means in order to be a " done" deal, somebody must SELL to the bidder at 0.002.

Notice there isn't any 0.003 done. This is not good for this counter, at least for the short term. Once the 0.002 bidders are cleared, the 0.001 will appear and don't be surprised to see 0.001 deal done.

Pardon my ignorance, but it looks like there's a lot of buying up going on today? Anything in the works?

Compare Sunmoon to Digiland, I think Sunmoon has better chance of recovering.

Just look at their business.   It is based on human necessities, food, fruits and groceries, and retailing of fresh fruit drinks.

And now they are able to manage out of the woods, from negative to positive equity.   That means, shareholders can still feel they have some tangibles if the company closes down.   But obviously this company, Sunmoon won't close down.   If it was to close down, it would be closed long ago when their subsidiaries were in heavy debt just before they divorced from them, making it a smart move to save the group and the company.

But never look back, SUNMOON is now slowly gaining grounds to stand on, and very soon, I believe, it will return happiness to loyal shareholders.

Right now, the long selling queue could have some fakes, the million of lots, a firewall to prevent people from buying. But it is ok to wait for future profit announcements as the future seems brighter than before.   Buying Sunmoon now is using 3 pips to buy a 4 pips company.   Long term got chance.   Vested a it at 2 pips.

During then, is there reports of investor coming in or w reports on financial gains/lifted from bankruptcy that makes u decide to invest?

aj2invest      ( Date: 08-Nov-2013 11:45) Posted:

Oh, basically I was brand new to stocks and was looking for something i could get greedy with...saw digiland at .002 back then and thought WOW, get in! Just needs to go up one tiny smidge to gimme a good 50% return! So i bought it with no knowledge besides " IT IS SO CHEAP!"

Then time went by and it went down to .001, so thought, ROCK BOTTOM, only way to go is up, RIGHT!? Wrong...but still i bought again, enough that if it goes back up to selling at .002, i can make something and get out...

Needless to say, i'm still stuck in it hoping to get out without damage...
