Keppel Corp. will offer a minimum of $4.38 per share and in the event it gets 90 percent of the developer, the offer price will be raised to $4.60 a share.

If  most of the retailers  don' t sell....it will  never hit the 90%.....and you will not get $4.60.

For those who accept the offer price at $ 4.38 earlier....when it gets 90% .... the offer price will be raised to $4.60 a share.

ie the offer price will be raised to $4.60 a share finally when it hits 90% .....all will get $ 4.60 .....it doesn' t  matter either you accept it at $ 4.38 or $ 4.60

anyone guess at wht range will de price open at on monday? 4.3?

If I am not wrong need to secure 90% of the control in the company before you can squeeze out the minority.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

told u guys so. if give dividend, small matter, no need to halt trading one.   Halt trading is big news for blue chips.

i feel a bit happy and a bit sad.

INTENSE speculation gripped the market on Wednesday, after Keppel Corp and its real estate subsidiary Keppel Land halted trading in their shares " pending release of announcement" and called off their scheduled results briefings for analysts and media.

The rumours circulating in the market centred on the potential privatisation of KepLand by KepCorp and corporate restructuring, although other theories also broke surface...

Doubt it' s going private.  Probably some other mkt moving news which insiders probably already know n trading on for days.  Otherwise, why has the share px moved up so much?  Anyway, my own guts is that other proberty counters to watch are Wheelock n Wing Tai.

SINGAPORE (Jan 20): Shares in  Keppel Land  (  Financial Dashboard) has been strong recently amid speculation in the market that the company could be taken private by its parent  Keppel Corp  (  Financial Dashboard).

On Jan 20, the stock rose 5 cents on a volume of more than 10 million shares ending the session at $3.65. It is up 6.7% since the start of the year.

Keppel Land&rsquo s shares are now trading at a 20% discount its net asset value at Sept 13 of $4.59 per share.

Some market watchers had previously also attributed the trading activity to a special dividend.

According to a presentation in November, Keppel Land recorded net divestment gains of $1,065.7 million last year.

Keppel Land has a market cap of $5.6 billion ranks and assets of $13.8 billion, making it one of the top five locally listed property companies. Its dividend policy is to pay out one-third of profits.

Singapore accounts for 45% of assets, followed by China with 43.5% and Vietnam with 6%. The Keppel Land group includes Keppel REIT, the largest local office REIT in Singapore, which has assets under management of $8.2 billion.

For the nine months to Sept 2014, Keppel Land reported a net profit of $308 million, down 3.3% y-o-y because of lower contributions from property trading.

In a report issued late last year,  OCBC Investment Research  ascribed a fair value of $4.09 to the stock with a &ldquo buy&rdquo rating.

Keppel Land reports its full year 2014 results on Jan 21.

SHARES of Keppel Land hit a 52-week high on Tuesday, closing 1.1 per cent higher at S$3.65, even while rumours of a potential privatisation by its parent were dismissed by analysts covering the stock.

Despite some market rumours of a potential privatisation, analysts see little prospect....

My guess is : take over offer 

Reason : if special dividend , you don' t halt your trading usually, TH is big news.
