KGI keeps ' outperform' on China Sunsine with higher target price on higher ASPs and sales volumes
KGI Research analyst Chen Guangzhi has maintained &ldquo outperform&rdquo on China Sunsine with a higher target price of 68 cents from 53 cents previously, as the company could see a turnaround in profitability in the FY2021, thanks to the upcycle in commodity prices and capacity ramp-up.

That said, Chen says average selling prices (ASPs) for rubber chemicals could fall in the 2HFY2021, although China Sunsine&rsquo s higher productivity in insoluble Sulphur and anti-oxidant is expect to offset the potentially weaker price later in the year.

In addition, Chen is positive on the company&rsquo s management vision, which led to a &ldquo well-timed ramp-up of capacity&rdquo . The ramp-up in capacity helped provide a buffer against the cyclical downturn, he says in a May 20 report.

&ldquo Thanks to the commercial operation of 20,000 tonnes of TBBS in 2HFY2020, the 13% y-o-y increase in sales volume propelled the performance turnaround,&rdquo he writes.

&ldquo The capacity expansion during the downturn in 2019 was a correct strategic move and proves management&rsquo s foresight and vision,&rdquo he adds.

Risks to the counter include a potential suspension work order by the authorities in preparation for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which would be held in early February. It is currently unknown whether 4QFY2021 production will be affected, he writes.

HINESE DEMAND DRIVES TYRE MAKER MICHELIN BACK TO GROWTH:
" Michelin' s (MICP.PA) sales returned to growth in January-March, boosted by a sharp rebound in demand in China, the French tyre maker said on Monday.
First-quarter sales rose 2.3% year-on-year to 5.45 billion euros ($6.58 billion) as tyre volumes for new passenger cars and light trucks surged 80% in China, with replacement rates up 36%.
The demand in China rose close to 2019 levels, Michelin said, as the carmaking industry there suffered less from a shortage of electronic components than other markets.
" Despite the disruptions from the COVID-19 pandemic and a certain amount of disorganization in the supply chain, Michelin delivered a robust performance in a first quarter shaped by an upturn in global demand" , Chief Executive Florent Menegaux said in a statement.
Michelin kept its guidance for 2021 adjusted operating income of more than 2.5 billion euros, and free cash flow of 1 billion euros, in what it described as a " highly uncertain" environment.
The tyre maker said the passenger car and light truck tyre markets were expected to grow 6%-10% in 2021, with the truck tyre market growing 4%-8%" .

BB must have sold Jiutian and bought Sunsine on Thurs & Friday. Good luck
I just bought more, plan to keep for 6-12 months for the next phase of grow after expansion. Cash rich with consistant dividend, should be good when market shift back into reopening trades.
