I think KC has now fully cut off KOM ...with that small % and so wld have little link to SM price movement . Dynamic and other oil related counters within KC wil be deal with soon
( I think Kep will be converting to a cleaner energy market ) . There financial profolio ( reinvest, AUM) will become more and more important and centre to KEP earnings.
Asset light and moving to cleaner energy projects. Which was the orginal aim and objective of cutting off KOM .
So I am very positive on KC in the next 3/5 yrs and are definately expecting good dividend .
SM ...definately not into the view of traders .....but now as a company ....SM is the best quality rig builder in the world today ( w $20B orders) . I dont think the korean or Chinese yard can
challenge SM in deep water rig . As long as oil stay above $70/80 mark or more ......rigs are needed ( esp the holiday of orders over last 3/5 yrs due to pandemic and low prices)
Oil will continue to be in demand ( even without any war ) China and India growth ..not even adding Indo and Asean will ganrantee global demand.
Balance of demand ( w BIG issue on Russia supply ) ...will be complex and difficult
SM will be in much better position ONCE the integration is complete ....I personally expect this within 2023 ( w Chris in charge)
So it is NOT about 30c or what ...it is about first turning profitable , turning those $20B orders around .....can you imagine the potential IF new orders arrive ?
