By the way, you are right that stock had advanced from $2.60 to $3.18 but a karge part of it has to fo with the merger prospect and the fact that the STI is at record level. Being an index stock CLI obviously will rise when the index goes up even without any credit of its own other than simply from funds buying into the basket of 30 stocks representing the STI.

Profits mainly affected due to downward revaluation of its China assets. The silver lining is that it could be cleaning up its balance sheets to get ready for the merger.

Management is always citing tough macro environment. What do you expect ? We need a good skipper in this kind of environment, not one waiting for the wind to blow behind his back. If you have the wind behind your back you don' t need a skipper.

Strangely CLI hasn' t mentioned the Dividend distribution date - just stating it will be subject to SH approval at the AGM. More likely AGM will feature a lot more things like marriage with Ms. Maple
