Still got price affecting news not out yet that why SSB not activated. Mine guess is treasury stocks they bought back at 99m would be cancel, hinting at another SSB in 2023 effectively reducing floating shares and increasing major holders stakes.
think there Gona be at least 3 rounds of SSB till 2024 to effective reduce total float from 4b to 3b
maybe combine shares also possible 5 to 1, drastically reduce float size from 4b to 800m. Making it harder to short with borrowed stocks as margin for profit squeezed on smaller float.
But YZJFH still have have not used it mandate to buy back shares. Ren said only use his own money after the 10% limit Buyback is reached. So he still have some time to prove himself

No SSB too for today, guess YZJFH might decide to let market do the pricing. China COVID more easing, they retired the track token.
Think china trying to minimise death by opening up on omicrp wave instead of deadly delta one.
The opening up would be fast and furious, might before CNY open border to international travel then china citizen all ganna force to take booster shot or enjoy the foreign virus intrusion lol.

i can feel your frustration not able to move the price in direction of your choice.
history i know some as well. if singtel not good example then look at grab. grab is now low price, their bank effort will work later and if they spin off the food delivery business, shareholders will make a pile. temasek is a shareholders. you give credit for that? or you think you can do better? many more example. their yearly asset growth also display their abilities.
yzjfh is still early day. investing now is like taking a wager on their abilities on their future.
the share price not likely to move. market maker just make the spread. they have no preference on direction. all depends on the maket. more buyer price go up. no buyer price go down. price range will move until there are transactions.
if you no like this price and want up can buy it up. or sell it down if you think it is too high.
shorts in the latest mas publish data shows they increased the number of open shorts slightly. but price only move down a bit. cannot cover their shorts, cannot force price down. catch-22 isn' t it.

The shares were from converting a government entity to current public company. And they continue to hold them as these are GLCs of critical national infrastructure.
Says nothing about the investing acument of Temasek and GIC.

people all over the place keep hammer temasek for losses on ftx. but anyone who is in crypto will know that ftx when it is ok is like a very credible exchange. but really temasek exposure is also not big. number is big to us becuase most thing with temasek is big.
for example dividend. temasek owns 8677999863 shares of singtel. current calender year temasek received $0.119 dividend per share. ie they received 1b+ in dividend. so the talk about 1 ftx lost so many millions is more then covered by the dividend received from 1 stock. not to mentioned dividend from other stock. also the current controlling management is going asset light type of investment, like what we see in capitaland group. these create a lot of meat for temasek, the market also like the listed company less the meat.
company of their size holds a lot of asset and received a lot of money even if they just employ a clerk to manage it. tm employ top of the cream and pay top $ for these people. i think they have also deliver in many many other investment. don' t just look at failed event. look at alibaba, boc etc all these has return more then 1x profit.
i ahve respect for temasek and gic people. jsut that these are a bit expensive. hope they deliver more then their cost. |
