Been looking into this coy for a while now and it looks like the management is quietly ambitious and shrewd, this is not the first time they see opportunities like this to take advantage of the market demand and by the way they are building another 2 bigger rigs which I believe will be sold again. http://www.offshoreenergytoday.com/china-csic-to-build-jack-ups-worth-up-to-872-mln/

Back in 2008/2009, their services were in high demand in Indonesia and were raking in crazy margins for their marine division. The pattern looks similar again judging from the service contracts won in their Indonesian marine division and many of their vessels were reflagged to Indonesian  due to carbotage laws. If Marco polo receive so much coverage on this, why not FEG? (Different vessel types maybe? AHTS vs Work Barge). And the another hidden jewel in FEG is their coal assets, currently they have already accumulated 3 concession in Kalimantan at very low prices and are looking for more. The reserve is understood to be of higher quality and as much as the other mining company on SGX and will already be profitable you they go production.

Strangely no brokerage or research is covering them now. I know SIAS have one but nothing ever since 2 quarters ago....

Further to an announcement in Jan, the JV between Falcon, Keppel Corp and PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Service Corp, to invest, own and charter oil rigs, and provide drilling and associated services, has been set up. The shareholdings in the JV has been amended such that Falcon owns 10%, Keppel 35% and PetroVietnam 55%. No material financial impact is expected yet for FYMar14.

Stocks posted slight gains before the bell Tuesday, after four consecutive days of losses amid speculation about when the U.S. will begin to tighten monetary policy.



" No new news, just the same fear," wrote Societe Generale analyst Kit Juckes in a market report.

The release Wednesday of minutes from the Federal Reserve's last monetary policy meeting will be closely watched for clues as to when the central bank will begin tapering its $85 billion a month in bond purchases.
