Traders to report short sell orders in securities listed on SGX Exchange from Oct 1. Under the new rules, investors with short positions above the threshold of the lower of 0.2% of total issued shares or S$2 million will have to report the positions to the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). MAS will publish aggregated short positions of each security on Wednesday of each week. The rule was proposed initially in 2016 amid a growing number of public short-selling campaigns against listed companies in the region. Short-selling refers to selling securities - such as shares, units or structured warrants - that a trader does not actually own at the time of the sale. The selling may be " covered" , with the seller having borrowed the securities or made arrangements to deliver them. It may also be " uncovered" or " naked" , which is when the seller neither holds the securities nor has made arrangements to deliver them to the buyer. Short selling involves the sale of a security that the seller does not own, or has borrowed, believing that the security' s price will decline so that it can be profitably bought back at a lower price. Traders who meet the threshold must report their positions through an online portal, dubbed the Short Position Reporting System, at https://eservices.mas.gov.sg/sprs/
Short-selling is not banned in Singapore, but SGX already requires investors to mark sell orders as " long" or " short" and publishes both daily and weekly reports on short-selling activity. The outcome doesnt matter dude. If its going to be a winning stock, why dont you just keep quiet, borrow money as much as u can, then load up as much as you can, when it hits your 2 cents target, then you are, a millionaire. And you enjoy your high life. BUT the point is, why are you so desperate pushing this stock? And why is your account new? You seems to have a hidden agenda. If it rise, you say you predicted it, if it falls, you keep quiet and say no one can predict the future with accuracy. This kind of shit has been going on for ages but no one learns. Why? Because human have 7 sins. One of them is greed. Hence, people, pls do your due diligence before buying/selling anything. In this world, there are no free lunch. Open your eyes.

high risk, high reward or high loss... if got money you can afford to say goodbye to, worth vesting after researching on selected ultra-pennies. Just don't follow the herd mentality and buy-in when ultra-pennies appear in the top 20-vol. I got caught this way when i first started investing a few years ago and still holding on to those few such as Centillion, Lexicon group (now electromotive). Fortunately, only a few K's per counter... but still some heart pain when see the paper loss until the value is less than 1k. I'll just hold on, just as long as the company has soem hope to improve and grow. Was luckier with some others and sold a small profit at the time.
