How would your valuation be if it is preferred stock (Preference shares) unlike common stock (Ordinary shares)- because K1 is vested in preferred stock of Guggenheim of about 5% & NOT common stock as per circular. Appreciate your comments as I have no accounting background.

K1 initial investment in these two disposed entities are recorded at original cost, so book value at 44c is not the sales proceeds which is pending further announcement. But it is not unusual to see profitable business selling at 2 to 3 times book. The final sales proceed figures is causing anxiety & confusion bcos it is unknown.

K1 Ventures, is it supposed to be worth this little? Guggenheim Partners has an estimated AUM of US$260 billion according to its website. Typically a asset manager valuation is about 2% of AUM, but for such a well-run asset manager like Guggenheim, it could be about 3.5-5% of AUM. Blackrock is valued around 7% of AUM. Assuming we take 3.5% valuation of AUM of US$260billion, Guggenheim is worth about USD$9.1billion. Now, K1 Ventures invested USD$100million in Guggenheim in 2011. |

According to https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/BLT.SI/key-statistics?p=BLT.SI Book value of K1 Venture is $0.44. Why buy at $0.68, if K1 Venture will be shell company?

Destruction of shareholders' value here. Down from 90c to 68c just couple of weeks ago. Mgt is so dumb to issue such a circular without full disclosure - K1 anounced that it had sold its last 2 businesses but the consideration (selling price) is still unknown to-date. So what is the residual value after disposal available for distribution is a big question mark. How can mgt sought shareholders' approval on disposal without full disclosure of selling price which is causing the confusion to many retail investors. SGX is closing one eye just bcos it is a GIC or TLC.

The recent share price drop is in anticipation that they will get approval on AGM for asset sale and distribution of dividend on that account. When you sell assts and give it back then obviously the share price drops by that tune. It is natural. As it is already factored in when it happens there wont be any change. THis has been the policy of this company run by Keppelite' s since long time I have seen this stock. Already earned back what I have invested by way of dividends. |

I recalled back the last time before it gave 0.21 divident the share price also drop to 0.78, but after annoucement of 0.21 divident the next day immediately went up above 0.9
