It is also much cheaper to buy from the market than to redeem at par. The fact that it hasnt been buying from the mkt shows that the company is really short of cash. Even if cash comes in from disposals, it would only make sense to redeem if Hyflux can issue new paper at less than 8%. My opinion is the company will have to show itself more capable of making significant profits and improving cash inflows b4 the market will demand less return. Nothing will happen in April. The co will just pay its 3% semi-annual div and thats that. Hopefully within the following 6 to 12 months (maybe longer), its business will improve such that it makes sense to redee
