Congestion Surcharge to and from USA

 

In view of potential labor actions, work stoppages, or disruptions at certain US East Coast and Gulf ports which, based on past experience, is likely to result in severe labor shortages, congestion, and the need to divert shipments to other ports and incur increased operating costs, Hapag-Lloyd will implement a Congestion Surcharge effective October 10, 2012, applicable as follows:

 

-            For all import cargo based on the date of cargo arrival at all USA locations, direct or via Canada or Mexico ports. (Congestion Surcharge Destination) (CGD)

 

-            For all export cargo based on the date of cargo receipt by the carrier at all USA locations. Congestion charge applies for all US export cargo, whether shipped direct or via Canada or Mexico

 

            ports.(Congestion Surcharge Origin) (CGO)  

 

Subject to those rights and remedies available under Carriers bill of lading, other rules contained in this tariff or otherwise, all shipments moving through US, Canada and Mexico ports during this time shall be subject to a congestion charge in the amount of: 

 

20’:            USD 800/20’

 

40’:            USD 1000/40’

 

40’ HC: USD 1125/40’ HC

 

45’ HC: USD 1266/45’ HC
