UOB KH have a good dividend policy of paying out 50% of earnings.

I am vested in it for its dividends.   Capital appreciation is not much and in fact it is an unrealised capital loss position for me currently

Earnings for the three months ended Sept fell 3.2% to $19.8 million. 

 

 

 

Commission income   fell 7.6% to $57.9 million. (This shows less trading)

Interest income grew 3.3% to $20.9 million due to higher lending activities.

Other operating revenue fell 17.4% to $5.3 million due to lower corporate finance activities.

Earnings per share for the quarter was 2.56 cents.. NAV per share was 168.43 cents as at Sept 30.

UOB Kay Hian 2Q results just out. 2Q2015 is better than 2Q2014. HongKong trading volume has contributed quite substantialy to this quarter, an increase of 39.2% for the group (2q2015 vs2q2014)

But 2H2015 , due to the drop in Hong Kong and Shanghai market , this will likely to hurt investor confidence in the coming months.

Just attended UOB-Kay Hian AGM just now. The AGM ended in 19 minutes even though shareholders ask a lot of questions. Unbelieveable. It broke the record of last week AGM at Far East Orchard of 20 minutes with 1 question ask.

They are very efficient.

Likely further recovery after bullish break

Key supports intact. 
UOB?Kay Hian could see more upside ahead after rebounding off its 2.5-year uptrend support and $1.62 key support recently this was followed by a bullish break of its 3-year downtrend resistance on heavy volume yesterday.

Indicator is bullish. 
The MACD has just crossed back above its centerline this suggests that the upside momentum is accelerating.

Target price at $1.74. 
The counter could recover further towards the next key resistance at $1.74 (key peaks) in the weeks ahead.

Stop loss level at $1.60. 
Meanwhile, we advocate a stop-loss exit around $1.60, which is slightly below the firm support of $1.62.

UOB-Kay Hian Q1 profit jumps 38%

UOB-Kay Hian shares closed at S$1.69 on Thursday, adding one cent, or 0.6 per cent after the stock went " ex" for a 4-cent-per-share dividend. The results were announced after the market closed - PHOTO: BLOOMBERG NEWS


UOB-Kay Hian Holdings' first-quarter net profit leaped 37.8 per cent as improved market sentiment and " penny fever" fuelled exceptional stock market activity during the period.

Profit attributable to shareholders climbed to S$31.9 million, or 4.4 Singapore cents, for the three months ended March. That largely mirrored a 31.9 per cent year-on-year increase, to $86.9 million, in commission income.

Net asset value rose to S$1.5544 as at end-March from $1.4979 as at end-December.

UOB-Kay Hian attributed higher market turnover and improved investor sentiment to the improved earnings.
