Recap.....BT 6th Oct 2017,JLL is handling the sale of Hotel Chancellor@Orchard which is marketed at $900,000 per key.The property which has 60 years left opened barely 3 years ago is being offered for sale with vacant possession of brand and management.This means buyer can rebrand,and reposition the asset. A few years ago when Hotel Grand Central sold its hotel at little india ,shareholders special bonus dividends ![]() ..up from $1.33 to $1.38 on 6th Oct

As expected despite thinly traded director Tan Teck Lin bought 94,800 at average $1.4319 on Fri Jan 19, 2018.Typically trend they buy every year b4 results out.This year will be interesting at AGM as there was a BT report they are putting out one of their hotels at orchard for sale

Last time when they sold Hotel at Little India the price shot up from 80cts to $1.30 ..this time after announcing sale of hotel chancellor move up 15cts from $1.32 when sales materialised maybe can cross $1.80 considering special dividends and boost to NTA of company | ||||||||||

$1.425 done as at 9th Oct ..with enbloc activities rampant and  few hotel developments for sale ,HGG can expect a good price for sale of Hotel Chancellor-like waht they paid special dividends when sale of their hotel at little india a few years ago

At AGM chairman Tan Eng Teong claimed he bought shares to support the market,shareholder asked why co share purchase scheme not utilised at all..old CEO English not very good so her daughter Tan Hwa Lian ED her spokesman..NTA $1.97 seems still undervalued and the 2 hotels at cost $80mil the prized assets at Orchard..has intention to sell one but can' t get the right price.Family concern tightly held so even market crash this is the counter can hold and sleep peacefully

AGM on Fri 28 11.30pm I think near cum date should cross $1.50 or just few days b4 ex..anyone going can query intention to take pte as NTA is much higher and since so thinly traded interested parties acting in concert must as well buy over and delist it by taking pte.Now that the 2 new hotels in front of Istana in full operation maybe to revalue again and it is definitely in their interest to take it pte I think can make more..as at 14 April SGX shows the directors still nibbling at HGC shares |

The financial world is referring to 2017 as the year of privatizations and mergers. I don' t know why such comment. HGC is clearly in this stage I believe. Mr Tan family is very prudent and safe thinking, and honourable. Therefore, if they do take it private, please be honorable too. |

Not so soon ..they buy is to push shares higher as most share holders opt for shares in lieu of cash dividends every year.There will be a time they find not worthwhile to list HGC any more and better take private especially with completion of the 2 hiotesl in front of Istana_prime land they will then offer 10-20% to a a small minority and reap the bigger benefits for themselves

Director bought less than 30 lots on each ocassion. Him and family total around 60% shares.  Far from privatisation. I held a few years, even selling is hard unless sells cheap.
