The second ID is Ng Chin Hwee, former CEO of SIA Engineering between April 2020 and Sept 2023.
Both appointments take effect today, Feb 17.
A previous director, Lim Cheng Cheng, who was substantial shareholder Singtel' s representative to the SingPost board, quit on Dec 23, after she had earlier resigned from the telco.
Lim held the role of non-executive, non-independent director.
Following Lim' s resignation, Vincent Phang, who was terminated last December as the group CEO of SingPost, has also resigned from the board on Jan 12.
Lim and two other senior executives were fired for supposedly mishandling a whistle-blowing issue.
SingPost is expected to call an EGM for shareholders to approve the sale of a key Australia-based unit.

Yeap, they have renewed and put the new team together. Just wait for it ....  SingPost expects to call an EGM in February to seek shareholders' nod to divest FMH. Singapore Post has reaffirmed its ongoing strategy  of divesting non-core businesses and assets, and that the transformation of its domestic postal business is going ahead as well. |

i think you are likely to be right. it can be overseas business unit having issue while the Singapore business is good.  based on the report - Mr Shahrin' s resignation comes not long after the  unprecedented sacking of three top executives  at SingPost over their  handling of internal investigations into a whistleblower' s report, which alleged  falsification of e-commerce shipment data at the international business unit.  They cannot afford to another round of sacking of anoth C suites executive. SINGAPORE:  SingPost' s CEO for its Singapore business,  Mr Shahrin Abdol Salam, has resigned after less than a year in the role. SingPost confirmed this  on Monday (Feb 3) in response to CNA' s queries, saying Mr Shahrin made the decision " to pursue opportunities outside the company" . i think it is a complete overhaul of the entire organisation after Simon Israel took over as the board chairman. just wait and see as they get ready for the sale of Australia business and consolidate the local Singpost operation. i believe Singpost should be fine in view of their assets

SingPost Singapore CEO Shahrin Abdol Salam resigns COO Neo Su Yin to assume additional responsibility
Shahrin is leaving to &ldquo pursue opportunities outside the company&rdquo

THE local operations chief executive of Singapore Post (SingPost), Shahrin Abdol Salam, has resigned.

Shahrin, who turns 52 this year, left the national postal service provider &ldquo to pursue opportunities outside the company&rdquo , said SingPost on Monday (Feb 3).

In a statement, he said he is stepping away from the role &ldquo to focus on a new chapter&rdquo in his career.

A transition timeline is being worked out with SingPost&rsquo s group chief operating officer Neo Su Yin.

Neo, who assumed the group COO role in January, will concurrently be Singapore CEO following Shahrin&rsquo s departure.

&ldquo Su Yin is familiar with the Singapore business unit, having run the business from November 2021 till May 2024,&rdquo said SingPost. &ldquo We thank Shahrin for his contributions to SingPost during his time and wish him well in his future endeavours.&rdquo

Shahrin was appointed the CEO of SingPost&rsquo s local operations in May 2024. During his term, he led the development and growth of the Singapore business, as well as the integration of postal and e-commerce logistics solutions for sustainable long-term growth.

He has more than 25 years of experience in operations management strategic planning, asset management, business development, engineering and customer service.

Prior to joining SingPost, he held senior leadership roles in the transport sector. He was managing director of SMRT&rsquo s Thomson-East Coast Line and senior vice-president of strategic relations at SMRT.

He also played a key role in &ldquo driving the anchor network&rdquo of MRT lines in Singapore, and contributed to the development of the Rapid Transit System, which aims to improve connectivity between Singapore and Malaysia.

He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Science in the management of technology. He also holds a bachelor&rsquo s degree in electrical engineering from RMIT University in Australia.

Parcelgate
Shahrin&rsquo s resignation comes months after SingPost fired three of its senior executives who had been found negligent in the handling of internal investigations over a whistle-blower&rsquo s report that it received earlier in 2024.

The executives are the former group CEO Vincent Phang, group chief financial officer Vincent Yik and CEO of the company&rsquo s international business unit Li Yu.

Phang on Jan 13 also resigned from his role as non-executive, non-independent director. The trio are contesting their terminations.

However, Phang and Yik had said in early January that they are prepared to abandon their litigation option if an independent professional inquiry is carried out.

The whistle-blower&rsquo s report was related to its non-regulated international e-commerce logistics parcels business.

Investigations by SingPost into the report found that three managers in the international business unit had &ldquo committed serious breaches of the company&rsquo s code of conduct&rdquo for deliveries for &ldquo one of its largest&rdquo customers.

They had performed or approved manual updates of the &ldquo delivery failure&rdquo (DF) status code for parcels SingPost had agreed to deliver &ndash without supporting documents, and even though no delivery attempt had been made.
