Sinking your money into China as a foreigner is different from investing in a Hong Kong-listed stock. Hong Kong is known to be as stringent as Singapore in its jurisdiction over its stocks or even more. Besides some land in Chengdu & involvement through Oue Lippo H/C, I ' ve not known of any other investment in China. Perhaps, you can tell us more. wyeo. |

Was trying not to laugh or make any comment in OUE thread but can't help it.... "they' ve not really invested in China.", so what is Gemdale properties into? 🤣 🤣 in fact Gemdale is now trading at its 52 weeks high and that's one of the smarter investment they had made IN CHINA 🤭 🤭 | ||

Every year they pay dividend better than the FD rates, but more when they sell a ppty at a profit. When they made 68.7m fr. the sale of the airport hotel extension, they paid 5c. For Oue Dt office, it was 13c. One reason I' m betting they pay good dividend this coming report is because they' ve another bumper sales last year & they' ve not really invested in China. On record, thr' Oue Lippo H/C they' re saying they ' ll expand in China on an asset-light basis. This is bec. they know the difficulties of doing business in China. Once you put your money in,it is hard to get out & you ' ve to struggle to get your rights in China.(ST article by S. Mah) wyeo. |

Yes, hope the BOD shares the gains and not find some reasons to keep the monies. If the latter happens, then investors should re-evaluate whether they should exit the company.

The cashfl. in is 774m plus another 100m fr. Gemdale. The sale of M.Mandarin on record is net profit of 137m. Paying 40% of this is 54.8m wh. equates to 6c dividend. It paid . Oue paid 13c for Dtown office at 908m. Since I cannot get the net profit of the $290m sale of Oakwood(fr. the same Dt.), I go by estimate: 290 divided by 908 X 13c = 4.15c dividend. The sale of Nassim is 95m.Let' s take 10%net profit wh. is 9.5m. Divided by 902m shares, it is .7c. The total of these dividends add up to near 11c. 2nd instalment coming. wyeo. |
