If I can win the Big Sweep Prize one day........ I only have myself to blame, sitting on a $700K loss in my shares investment. $700K is like someone' s income for a decade or two. $700K can bring my family all over world or do a lot of things that I dreamt of. Hands are tied and I have lost, otherwise, a condo for my kids to enjoy the facilities or an overseas education for them. No more balls to bet on the most popular pennies or the best blue-chips. I wish i never started (to buy shares). I have a lot of dreams. I find comfort once a while to drift my mind away once a way if I can win the $2.3mio Big Sweep. I don' t even bother to buy lottery diligently every month. I don' t believe in buying lottery of any form, but I will always buy from the handicap seller in my neighbourhood if I happen to pass-by him. I told my wife that if I win the first prize, I will give him some money. But in my heart, even if I strike the third prize ($250K), I will do the same for him. Then my son always shared with me about the poor kids in his neighbourhood school, some kids are really neglected in our society. For many times, my son will eat from his lunch box and pass his $2 allowance to his classmates who forge less previleged classmates haven' t ate anything yet. I never think of helping any poor kids on a regular basis because I always tell myself that taking care of them is tht to bring food-stamps to school (and they always pay him back the next day), simply because he felt that he has a lunchbox and breakfast at home while hise job of our social worker and government, given the taxes that we pay. However, I have a dream, I hope to invite the poor schoolmates of my child' s cohort toThen my son told me about the poor kids in his school, some kids are really neglected in our society. A $100k will make a lot of difference to these young people. Sad to say, it reminds me of the opportunity cost of my massive stock losses. I know the same amount of money can save more poor people in third world countries but just let me start with some people around. I have been helping a handicapped relative and the education of my juniors for years, so I know $100K each for some of these juniors can make a big improvement to their life goals or buy their own roof (HDB downpayment) hahaha but for myself, I have not bought my own roof too because of my stock losses. LOL, should help myself first before I help others right? Lastly, I want to put aside money for my kids. KNN with Industrie 4.0, more young people will be jobless or stuck in their career in the new economy. hahaha then last but not least, buy a roof for my family so that all of us need not squeeze in the same room every night.
