Interesting Read...NAB test will prob reduce the number of tests and vaccines that one will have to go thru. Thus it will save money, time and resources for governments.. More importantly, this NAB test is propiertary to BIOLIDICS....they are not distributor anymore..

Biolidics: Receipt of CE Marking for its COVID-19 NAB test kit

UPDATE ON DEVELOPMENT OF THE CLEAREPI SARS-COV-2 NEUTRALISING ANTIBODY RAPID TEST KIT

The board of directors (the " Board" ) of Biolidics Limited (the " Company" and together with its subsidiaries, the " Group" ) refers to the announcements made on 14 July 2020 and 16 July 2020 (the " Announcements" ) in relation to the licencing agreement entered into by the Company to use the technology for the detection of COVID-19 viral spike/Angiotensin Converting Enzyme 2 (" ACE2&rdquo ) blocking antibodies (the " Technology" ). Unless otherwise defined, capitalised terms used in this announcement shall have the same meaning as ascribed to them in the Announcements.

The ClearEpi NAB Test

Further to the Announcements, the Board is pleased to announce that the Company has developed its ClearEpi SARS-CoV-2 Neutralising Antibody Rapid Test Kit, which incorporates the Technology (the " ClearEpi NAB Test" ).

The ClearEpi NAB Test is intended for qualitative detection of circulating human IgG neutralising antibodies in serum or plasma that are capable of binding to SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and blocking ACE2 binding. Result from the test may provide indication of the individual' s protective immunity against COVID-19.

The Company wishes to highlight that the ClearEpi NAB Test is intended for use as an aid in identifying individuals with an adaptive immune response to SARS-CoV-2 and should not be used to diagnose or exclude acute SARS-CoV-2 infection. As at the date of this announcement, it is unknown for how long antibodies persist following infection and if the presence of neutralising antibodies confers protective immunity.

The ClearEpi NAB Test will be limited to professional use and is not intended for at home testing.

Receipt of CE Marking

The Board also wishes to update that the Company had on 20 September 2021 received confirmation for the CE marking for the ClearEpi NAB Test (registration number: DE/CA70/40838-166084) (the " CE Marking" ). The CE Marking is a notification process which enables the Company to market and sell the ClearEpi NAB Test in the European Union (" EU" ). The receipt of the CE Marking indicates that the ClearEpi NAB Test complies with the relevant EU safety, health and environmental protection
requirements which enables the ClearEpi NAB Test to be marketed in the EU. For the avoidance of doubt, obtaining the CE Marking does not guarantee that the Company will be able to secure supply and/or successfully commercialise the ClearEpi NAB Test in the EU.

Marketing and Commercialisation of the ClearEpi NAB Test

As at the date of this announcement, the Company is in the process of: (i) negotiating the terms of a definitive agreement with its contract manufacturer for the production of the ClearEpi NAB Test (the " Manufacturing Agreement" ), and (ii) obtaining the relevant product liability insurance in respect of the ClearEpi NAB Test (the " Insurance" ). As such, the Company will only be able to commence the marketing and commercialisation of the ClearEpi NAB Test after the Manufacturing Agreement is
entered into and the Insurance is obtained. The Company will make the appropriate announcement(s) when there is further material development relating to, among others, the entering into of the Manufacturing Agreement and the obtaining of the Insurance.

Barring unforeseen circumstances, and given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and subject to the Company being able to successfully market and commercialise the ClearEpi NAB Test in the EU, the development of the ClearEpi NAB Test and its receipt of the CE Marking is expected to contribute positively to the revenue of the Group for the current financial year ending 31 December 2021.

However, given that the ClearEpi NAB Test has yet to be launched, the Company is unable to quantify such financial impact as the sales uptake of the ClearEpi NAB Test cannot be determined as at the date of this announcement. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly evolving and new COVID19 related products and services are constantly being developed and launched in the market.

Good questions..NAB tests are different from the regular COVID-19 test...there are more technology involved, hence there is only a handful of such NAB tests in the market. So similar to COVID-19 vaccines, with higher barrier of entries and lesser competition, there is room for higher margin profits. pls do your own due d |

I think Governments around the world will likely adopt NAB test as vaccinations gain pace....to determine whether an indiviudal requires a booster shot.
https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/keeping-community-safe-new-covid-immunity-test Keeping The Community Safe With New COVID Immunity Test 19 September 2021 A new finger prick test that can quickly assess a person&rsquo s immunity to COVID-19 and whether they need a coronavirus booster shot is being developed with funding support from the Victorian Government.

In less than 20 minutes, the COVID-19 NAb-Test shows the level of immunity present in individuals by accurately measuring the level of neutralising antibodies to COVID-19.

The new technology will also be able to predict a person&rsquo s immunity to new and emerging variants of COVID-19 and it can be used at scale for large groups.

The test could be used to determine whether a person may need a booster shot by analysing their current level of immunity to the virus. The test doesn&rsquo t check for current infection.

Neutralising antibodies are a key measure of immunity to COVID-19 and are part of the body&rsquo s natural immune response that is triggered by either prior infection or vaccination against the virus.

HOW Neutralising Antibody TESTING (NAB) CAN UNLOCK HARD-HIT SECTORS OF THE ECONOMY &ndash AVIATION AND TRAVEL The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic has been felt across the globe. Governments across the world during 2020 and into 2021 have quite rightly sought to minimise the loss of life through lockdowns of various types. This has had the desired effect and has reduced infection rates and mortality. From the start of 2021 we have seen the much-anticipated large-scale roll-out of vaccines which is now signaling the possible return to normality at least for some parts of the World. However, a great deal of uncertainty remains, for example how COVID-19 will develop, and we have seen mutations with the emergence of the Brazil, South African, Kent and Delta variants. The real risk is that one of these variants impact on the immunity inferred by either previous infection or by vaccines. The big questions for how we return to normal: How do we return to normal life in the midst of this uncertainty caused by known and unknown variants? How do we unlock our economies? How will hard hit industries like aviation, travel and tourism safely restart? Travellers freely moving around after the covid-19 pandemic Vaccines and their continued development will play a critical role. The development and their subsequent roll-out has been highly impressive, however, testing will also need to play a key role.   In my view this should be a combination of point of care antigen/PCR testing and neutralising antibody testing. This will provide a pragmatic and cost-effective solution and allow us to get back to a degree of normality. Abingdon Health will be assessing how antibody testing can be used to unlock economies safely and conveniently for the public. In a series of blog posts covering travel, events, workplaces and antibody status, we will demonstrate how antibody testing will be central to this. Antibody testing for travel &ndash Safer, cheaper and more convenient Whether it be for work or leisure we need to open the travel market, in particular aviation. Antigen testing or PCR testing prior to travel are currently the preferred solutions. Typically, the requirement is you must possess a negative COVID-19, normally a PCR test, a maximum of 72 hours prior to departure for presentation to the airline and a single PCR test on or before day 2 of arrival back into England. The landscape is everchanging, but at the time of writing this, if you are arriving to the UK from an amber country you will need to do a day 8 test on arrival back into England as well as the day 2 test set out above. In addition, you may need a test prior to departure back to the UK. For example, Portugal (on the green watchlist) requires you to do a pre-departure PCR test 3 days before your return journey. There are concerns however on the cost of testing and the practicalities of maintaining this for the foreseeable future. There are real logistical challenges and it is costly. Testing at home or when abroad prior to travel also does not take away all the risk. For example, what about picking up the infection in the period between testing and arriving at the airport? Also, every time you travel you need to follow the same costly testing regime. A neutralising antibody testing can play an effective role here Evidence is building regarding the importance of neutralising antibodies (antibodies that neutralise the virus&rsquo ability to penetrate and infect human cells) in indicating immunity. In May-21 in Nature.com. Italy&rsquo s ISS national health institute published research on the study of 162 patients with symptomatic coronavirus neutralising antibody titers progressively drop after 5&ndash 8 weeks but are still detectable up to 8 months in the majority of recovered patients regardless of age or co-morbidities, with IgG to spike antigens providing the best correlate of neutralisation. In the New England Medical Journal in April 2021 Rose (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases) et al published interim results from a phase 3 trial of the Moderna mRNA-1273 severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccine indicated 94% efficacy in preventing coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) indicating by the persistence of neutralizing antibodies through 6 Months after the Second Dose. A person&rsquo s levels of neutralising antibodies following covid-19 vaccination or natural infection could help predict their level of immune protection, the study suggested. As reported in the New Scientist in May 2021 David Khoury at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and colleagues analysed data from seven covid-19 vaccine studies and one study of people who had been infected with the coronavirus and recovered. The researchers modelled the relationship between neutralising antibody levels and protection from disease and found that neutralising antibody levels were highly predictive of immune protection. |

Covid-19 NAB test aims to detect a person&rsquo s immunity to virus and potential future variantshttps://thewest.com.au/news/covid-19-nab-test-aims-to-detect-a-persons-immunity-to-virus-and-potential-future-variants-c-4004776

A finger prick test that does not detect a Covid-19 infection but rather a person&rsquo s immunity to the virus is being developed and partly funded by the Victorian government.
Victoria&rsquo s Innovation and Medical Research Minister Jaala Pulford claims the rapid Covid-19 NAB-Test could also &ldquo predict a person&rsquo s immunity to new and emerging variants of Covid-19&rdquo and could be used at scale for large groups. The test is at the prototype stage. Finger prick tests are typically used to measure things like blood glucose levels in people with diabetes. The Covid-19 NAB-Test will attempt to show the level of immunity present in individuals in less than 20 minutes by measuring levels of neutralising antibodies to coronavirus. &ldquo The test could be used to determine whether a person may need a booster shot by analysing their current level of immunity to the virus. The test doesn&rsquo t check for current infection,&rdquo a statement from Ms Pulford&rsquo s office said. &ldquo Neutralising antibodies are a key measure of immunity to Covid-19 and are part of the body&rsquo s natural immune response that is triggered by either prior infection or vaccination against the virus.&rdquo The Burnet Institute and Doherty Institute developed the test with a $500,000 grant as part of the Victorian government&rsquo s $31 million coronavirus research project. Professor Dale Godfrey, from the immunology department at the Doherty Institute, said the test focused on antibodies. &ldquo Other rapid tests don&rsquo t measure the important &lsquo neutralising antibodies&rsquo that block virus infection,&rdquo he said. &ldquo This is the advantage of the Covid-19 NAB-Test.&rdquo It comes as 507 new locally transmitted cases of Covid were reported in Victoria on Sunday. Premier Daniel Andrews is set to unveil the state road map out of lockdown later in the day. |
