SEOUL, March 15 (Yonhap) -- Ssangyong Engineering & Construction Co. said Thursday its consortium has clinched a US$740 million order to build a smart hospital in Singapore.

The Woodlands Health Campus (WHC) will be made up of an acute care hospital, a community hospital, specialist outpatient clinics and a nursing home, marking the first time that all such facilities will be conceptualized and built simultaneously, according to Ssangyong E& C.

The health campus is seeking to ensure that future patients can enjoy seamless accessibility across the various services offered, the builder said.

The 1,800-bed integrated facility is set to be completed progressively from 2022.

" Challenges are to be expected with any large infrastructure development," Ssangyong E& C Executive Vice President Ahn Kook-jin said. " However, the team is confident that with close collaboration between our key stakeholders, we will be able to overcome anticipated issues. Coordination will be a key factor for the successful and timely completion of the WHC."

    The consortium is composed of Ssangyong E& C, Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co. and Singapore' s Koh Brothers Building & Civil Engineering Contractor.

Ssangyong E& C and Daewoo E& C hold a 40 percent stake in the consortium, respectively, with Koh Brothers Building & Civil Engineering Contractor owning the remainder.
