Maybe management scare that we shareholders will tekan them during agm. Grant them share buyback power every year, but still watch on the sideline when BBs manipulate stock price downwards.
If don't know how to use share buyback power, might as well stop granting them this year. Kanasai betul

China Everbright Water proposes 1.2b yuan first tranche notes issue
MAINBOARD-LISTED China Everbright Water plans to issue a first tranche of 1.2 billion yuan (S$236.5 million) notes in China on or around June 8, it said in a bourse filing on Wednesday. This will be part of a proposed three billion yuan issuance and the notes will have a maturity period of five years.
The company said in January - when it first proposed the issuance of the medium-term notes - that the fixed coupon rate would be determined by the company and underwriters pursuant to a centralised book-building process.
Its registration of the notes was accepted by the Chinese interbank market regulator in April.
China Everbright Water said the notes have been given an AAA rating by the Shanghai Brilliance Credit Rating & Investors Service.
It is looking to issue the notes to institutional investors in the interbank bond market in China.

ohhh... i went through your thoughts on cornered but the volumes since nov 2019 and recently from the fall in march 2020 does it means more cornered? 2.9billion shares with 75% in major holder (means 25% outside) say 700000 lots which is 700 million shares that is still very plentiful left for anyone to corner you need 140 million to corner it further in the lowest price (not 0.195 la using 20 cents) also others talk about PE and GO privatization this counter definitely looks too tasty to harvest liao maybe still dangerous la (cause s chips) but with the amount of liquidity and delisting of slightly better china firms recently this one i get in a bit cause see got chance. lets see if wrong or right there were rousing on late dividends etc (many counter also delayed abit) but this still give and i suppose upcoming maybe have again? (please enlighten) if so even at 20 cent is still 6.5% (buy higher lower % dividend la) only time will tell but aside all these reason. core reason i buy is because water projects is gonna be constant and big in urbanized china environmental guy here so envfriendly sometimes i tempted to fight jungle warfare with girls ) |

China Everbright bags deal to expand Shandong wastewater treatment plantTHU, MAY 28, 2020 - 8:04 PMCHINA Everbright Water has clinched a contract to expand the Dezhou Lingcheng Wastewater Treatment Project in China&rsquo s Shandong province, the mainboard-listed company announced in a Thursday bourse filing. It has signed a supplementary agreement with the Lingcheng District Government of Dezhou City for the project, which entails an investment of 130 million yuan (S$26.2 million). The project will have a daily waste-water treatment capacity of 30,000 cubic metres (cu m), a daily defluoridation capacity of 60,000 cu m and a sludge-reduction facility. The discharged water will meet at least the national Grade 1A standard, going by the discharge standard of pollutants for municipal wastewater treatment plants, China Everbright said. An Xuesong, chief executive of China Everbright, said that the latest project &ldquo shows that the company&rsquo s business strength, quality and brand are well recognised and supported by the local government authorities and the public&rdquo . " The company will proactively leverage the economies of scale and synergies from these projects to provide water-treatment services with better quality and higher efficiency. By these means, China Everbright will better fulfill the waste-water treatment demand of Dezhou City, facilitate the improvement of water quality of the river transect of the Hai River basin in the city, and continue improving the quality of the local water environment and living environment,&rdquo he added. Took a closer look at CEWL and SIIC - appears to be real undervalued. Still remember the days of this being HanKore and market darling together with the other Chinese water stocks but gone were those days. CITIC Envirotech now privatised, Darco also got a GO offer - potentially CEWL and SIIC to be next given such distressed valuations despite being highly profitable? Can' t quite see how Covid-19 impacts their business if anything, it may be worries on their debt but given their SOE backing and accessibility to relatively cheaper cost of debt, don' t quite see how its an issue. Seems like a rather compelling buying opportunity at current price - question is who else is selling the stock at this level? |

Actually realised that the hit to valuations is somewhat across the board, Beijing Water Enterprise 371.HK is also trading at just 5.6x PE and trading under book value for the first time in almost a decade. Gotta agree that CEWL' s valuation is way depressed trading at just 0.35x PB and 3.7x PE at 20c
