While agreeing with most forumers on the negativity of this s-chip, FY result will be out by end of week. Based on kongsi trend, div likely to be 0.67c for 2H, making total 1.34c for FY, better than previous. Eps likely to be around 5c or better. Market price likely to stay stagnant for a while, plus minus 1c max, due to lack of investor interest. A boring stock, only suitable for some patient div collectors, current yld 5.9%. Kongsi under big parent SOE coy, so usual s-chip risk not likely. Just opinion.

The level of risk and the returns simply not worth it. If they r really so good, why not listed in their own country? Furthermore, I personally feel that the level of protection given by S to the retail investors r simply not there.

Really need to be careful. The story seems very similar to Midas. Must be some reasons for the low PE. The amount of goodwill and intangible asset seem high also. Just saying.

their result this year not going to be better than last year due to covid19. Dividends may dip....all this due slow construction impacted revenue and government hesitant to roll out more projects. This will be better next year. patience is the game.

Their result is usually good. Last year eps is 5c, annual div is 1.32c, div yld is about 5.9%, better than the best FD. Div given half yearly, and have been consistently giving div for many years. My guess is that this counter is under BBs suppression for whatever reason. At this eps, its mkt value shd be worth at least 50c. Their bizness of water treatment in polluted China water ways is like never ending. That' s y every now and then, they are given major projects. Just opinion.

Has been consolidated at 225/230 range for so long, and today it looks like volume surged at the 225/230 range level, which is a good sign. Engine starting and looks like it will burst up before result release. Also, just to add, CEB has been heavily shorted consitantly - once price jump, may expect some short-covering which can further help the bulls! Good luck and huat! |

That is sadly true, by the looks of what happens to those infamous s-chips that were delisted and nil cash returns to shareholders. The latest probably is ChinaHongxing which is now delisted with nil compensation for shareholders. Noting that it owns the multi billion biz of Hongxing ERKE. So where does the cash disappear. Sad for shareholders, but what can shareholders do, if sgx cannot or does not do anything to protect shareholders' value.

A while ago, my friend wrote a letter to China Embassy in Singapore, gentlely reminding them that this company represents China' s Government, due to their heavy connection to PRC. Everbright valued their shares during HK' s IPO for S$0.50, but allow its share to drop to S$0.20, despite having Shareholders' mandate to buy back the share. This is the reason why many institutions distrust China listed company. Seems that China Government doesn' t care of their reputation after all, by allowing their friends to buy up share at 50% below their own valuation. If they continue to have this kind of backward mindset, they will never replace USA as financial hub. |

China Everbright Water secures second phase of Jiangsu waste water treatment project with investment of RMB150 mil
China Everbright Water has entered into a supplementary agreement with the Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau of Huaiyin District of Huai&rsquo an City, Jiangsu Province for the Huaiyin Eastern District Waste Water Treatment Project Phase II.
The second phase of the project commands an investment of approximately RMB150 million ($30.7 million).
The project will be invested in, constructed and operated based on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.
Its concession period will expire concurrently with the Project Phase I in July 2050.
Project Phase II has a designed daily waste water treatment capacity of 50,000 cubic metres and the discharged water will comply with the national Grade 1A standard according to the Discharge Standard of Pollutants for Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant.

China Everbright unit wins 666.3m yuan bid for 65% stake in Tianjin enterprise
CHINA Everbright' s indirect wholly owned subsidiary has won a public bid for the purchase of a 65 per cent equity interest in water treatment firm Tianjin Binhai New Area Huantang Sewage Treatment. The consideration for the purchase is 666.3 million yuan (S$136.4 million).
Tianjin Binhai New Area Huantang Sewage Treatment is a wholly state-owned enterprise. The projects it owns have an aggregate daily water treatment capacity of 220,000 tonnes.
Its Beijing wastewater treatment plant, including a phase one project and an upgrading project, has a daily wastewater treatment capacity of 150,000 tonnes.
Its Beitang reusable water plant - including a reusable water project and water supply pipeline network 49 km in length - has a daily reusable water supply capacity of 45,000 tonnes.
The Gangdong wastewater treatment plant - including a phase one project, phase one upgrading project and phase two expansion project under construction - has a daily wastewater treatment capacity of 25,000 tonnes.
China Everbright said the potential transaction will expand its presence and influence in Tianjin. It also provides a solid foundation for further wastewater treatment projects to be undertaken in the municipality and the surrounding regions, the group said in a bourse filing on Sunday.
China Everbright' s unit, Beijing Everbright Water Investment Management, will enter into a transfer agreement with the company' s sole shareholder, Tianjin Binhai Environmental Protection Asset Development.
The shareholder is principally engaged in - among other things - the construction of infrastructure for environmental protection industrial parks, household waste-to-energy and wastewater treatment.
