x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	SMRT 3QFY14 results missed estimates, with net profit lowered 44% y/y to $14.2m due to higher operating expenses mainly attributable to staff costs (+21.4%) from increased headcount in train and bus operations, and the recent wage revision exercise. Meanwhile, revenue improved 4.1% to $293.3m on the back of growth from rental (+11.2%), advertising (+27.4%) and engineering and other services (+46.8%). Operationally, bus and LRT remains loss making for the group, while train profits are slowly chewed off (-97%). Notably, rail operations (train and LRT combined) recorded its first ever quarterly loss of $0.2m, while its overall fare business (train, bus and LRT) suffered a $9.0m operating loss, in contrast to 3QFY13?s S$7.4m operating profit. Net gearing ballooned 7x to 64% on a $392.7m payment for 17 trains and operating assets taken over from LTA. At $1.19, SMRT trades at a 1.7% FY14 yield and 19.8x forward P/E, slightly above its historical average of 18.4x. Latest broker recommendations as follows: Maybank-KE maintains Sell with TP $0.60 DB maintains Buy with TP $1.80 OCBC place their Hold rating and $1.30 TP under review

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	Prediction (SMRT) 27 Jan b4 open-      I predicted that SMRT current price      $1.19 is far overpriced, and      will move downward below $1 before moving towards its fair value (2 digits). SMRT's NAV ($0.51)  with packed cabins, frequent breakdowns required increased maintenance cost.      The downtrend will move gradually overtime, which may take months. Besides, the      decrease in dividends  from 7 cents to 2 cents do not make it an attractive stocks.        Shareholders of SMRT had already received      accumulated dividends      more  than original IPO price-      which essentially means they are holding SMRT stocks are of no cost. (As Dividends over the years > SMRT IPO $0.61).      As SMRT consists of assets which are aging, it is a      depreciating assets (Which will impact the NAV $0.51) I boldly predict SMRT will fall below $1, and towards the  $0.70- $0.80 range  in months to come. 27 Jan- Market closed  $1.18 28 Jan- Market closed  $1.19

x 0   x 0  Alert Admin	think for resonable increased ptc after review will approved one. the bigger problem is how to get  a basic quality service. who knows the real problem? they cannot get basic correct and yet the monitor tell to increased freq,  this that. etc. sometimes it best to leave it to the people who runs the operation to suggest what is best. else maybe spend money get external consultant to help. SMRT is a gone case stock because of its political liability.  The commuters want it cheap and reliable (worse in Hokkien " Ai Qing ya ai perng" ) Don't forget that the MRT are built with " Qing and Perng" , surely more breakdowns.
