Genting SP: announced that all the conditions precedent for the JV with Landing Int&rsquo l to develop and operate a US$2.2b IR on Jeju Island have been met in order for the deal to move forward. This includes govet approvals for the JV as well as execution of management agreements between GENS and Landing with regards to gaming operations, the theme park, hotel and residence business. CIMB notes that an endorsement by the Korean government could be a catalyst for GENS&rsquo s share price which has remained flat since announcing the JV on 7 Feb. In comparison, Landing&rsquo s share price has risen 24%. The house values GENS&rsquo s 52% effective stake in the project at $0.09 per share in GENS&rsquo s RNAV. Maintains Add with TP $1.81 |

The gestation period for Genting is probably 2 years? Recall when Genting was only $0.80, people were already exiting the stock because of huge capital outlay to construct the development and low revenue gains. At that time, it was stuck in a range until when the development was near completion, the stock began to soar to new highs. I think such a trend would mirror similarly. Given that the response on OUE' s stock was lacklustre after the announcement of Casino plans, I would suppose Genting would probably get a one day boost and that' s about it. Do note that these developments (Japan and Seoul) take years to build. If you enter into Genting, you probably need to have tons of patience. I definitely do believe there is potential in this counter. After all, it is a gaming stock and gaming stocks are doing well all over the world. But, you probably need to scan its environment as well, which isn' t favourable for genting currently. |

Possibly. More house may follow suit to upgrade especially after announcement. If it does happen, it may test the highs of 1.50+ and maybe 1.80 by end of the year |
