Hoping to see Banyan Trees launch some new e-travel initiatives like MeiTuan, Tujia (the China airbnb), ctrip.com with its new group of hotels joiintly developed with Vanke and Accor. This would be a on a worldwide scale. The online travelling space is getting very very hot now. Banyan Trees should not miss out ! |

I spoke to the management. They said the PPA (principal points of agreement) they signed in Jan is legally binding. The dfinitive agreement is only to fill in all the details, nitty dritty. Nothing to worry about.

results were out yesterday. Anyone able to provide some in depth review of the results. They have yet to sign agreement with Chinese company. Expected middle of the month. Might be flushing out weak players now.

Funds are chasing growth stocks. As long as the business has a growth story, they will pay up for it. It is a growth revival for Banyan Tree now. Buy while still in accumulation stage.

Why contract can only be signed after AGM because it needs the AGM/EGM to approve the issue of shares to these 2 new JV partners. Then can put in writings in the contracts.

No lah, it said within 2 weeks after AGM. The French Accor contract has already been signed last week, so should be very soon for the Vanke contract.

Was it mentioned in the agm that the agreement would be signed by 5th may. Any reason why it had been delayed. In previous announcement they had mentioned it would be signed 90days from Jan. Thanks

Some snippets of information from the 2016 Annual Report: Going forward, the Group&rsquo s China-owned assets will be injected into Banyan Tree China (BTC), the new joint venture between Banyan Tree and Vanke. Limited partners of the China Fund, including the Group&rsquo s 5% equity investment in the Fund, will be offered an exit by selling their stake to BTC for cash or shares. BTC will at its discretion invite owners of existing hotels and hotels under development bearing various Banyan Tree brands to inject their hotels into B TC. Vanke may also inject its hotels. The goal is to attain sufficient size to secure an initial public offering. I am looking forward to BTC going IPO in China. Should be big! |

At the AGM, Company said it should be signing the definitive agreement with Vanke by tomorrow. Then we will know what is the amount of profit it will book for the disposal of assets into the Banyan Tree - Vanke JV in China. Should be very substantial according to the Company. |
